2021 NBA playoffs thread

Woof, Simmons was 3/3 in all 7 4th quarters combined this series.

I know he wasn't a great shooter his year at LSU but it seems he somehow regressed in several phases.

Crazy when you compare to LaMello who was improving as the year went on and the fg% everyone was worried about seems like it'll be nothing.

Someone will always take a contract off your hands, he's a really good player he is just an awful fit for what they have. You can sell him pretty easy IMO but he's losing value with every game like tonight.

Any GM that takes him in won't be int heir job long. The 76ers should have jettisoned Simmons and kept Jimmy Butler on last year. They just don't seem to have a player that just wants to win above all else and takes the ball when needed to do so.

The Hawks were severely outmanned in this series, but Trae Young just did what was needed to win. May not have always been popular or the good guy, but he's a winner. Simmons and Embiid are not.

Philly has to move Simmons, they need another wing that can score.
Simmons was damn near invisible that game.

By what?

I think Simmons is scared to go to the free throw line. He passed up that dunk because he was worried he would get fouled. You can sort of see Embiid chewing out Simmons after he passed up that dunk.

So I had a double-double bet on Simmons last night so I spent more time focusing on just him than I otherwise would have. It was bizarre to watch. Not only would he not shoot, he was completely unengaged on offense. He just went to the short corner and stood there. No attempt to rebound, screen, etc.

At a point it's on Doc for even playing him. I know he was on the bench at the very end but he shouldn't have played in that 4th quarter. Thybulle gives you all the same things defensively and will at least put in an effort on offense.

To quote the greatest golf movie, Tin Cup, “when a defining moment comes along, you define the moment…or the moment defines you.”

It's funny opposing fans hate him but I love the guy.

Usually I go along with the guy random fans hate.

And we did all have a few years where he was ISU's "bad guy" and I didn't mind him then either.

Wasn't he only at OU for a year? We didn't have a chance to really hate him but he was definitely a punk and my only reason I didn't like him was he didn't seem to be much of a teammate but that's all heresay/speculation.

Agree on it being fun watching someone emerge as a villain though.

What an epic meldown by Philly. Simmons was absolutely scared to have the ball in the 4th quarter. Made a couple defensive plays but was a liability on the offensive end for most of the second half.
Also, Thybulle had a just inexcusable foul on Huerter.

I was leaning on taking the Bucks to win it now but I think Phoenix might be the best team currently.
