2021 NBA playoffs thread

I am going to hijack this thread to post something I noticed about Monté --

He should have been a first-team All-American as a senior.

Total screwjob.

Took the NPTOY to keep him from winning the CPOTY award, too.

I've been telling people for a few years he has a case for Cyclone GOAT from a statistical analysis. He's #1 in big 12 history in a number of stats.

Portland and Boston are in interesting spots this offseason.
Wouldn't be suprised if Portland let's go of their staff.

I agree wholeheartedly.

Niang is probably the most emblematic player of that era -- great player and memorable personality.

Ejim has the highest honors with the Big 12 CPOTY and All-American nods.

Mitrou-Long might stick in our hearts the most for embodying the spirit of Hilton Magic.

But I agree with you that Morris was the best college player of the bunch.

His level of productivity, efficiency, and an insane number of games/minutes played is really unique, not just for the Big 12, but for college basketball as whole. To be as productive as he was, as efficient as he was, and to play as many minutes as he did while doing it... yeah, special career with him, hang #11.

I think he's the all-time leader in minutes for the Big 12.

Nobody knows it because it was hardly noticeable.

The game would get over with and MM would have a crazy line but I'd only remember maybe a 3 or something.

Just does what's needed and it's time tested as it was tonight.

That was a blast the past two games seeing a Cyclone dominate in a really great series then finish it off.

People need to get over weird NBA stigma. It should be impossible for an ISU fan who likes basketball to not enjoy that. I mean the series was just great basketball and you've got Monte in there impressing even against the epic performance of Jokic and DL.

They only have data back through 2009, but...

I was right. Monté is #1 by a pretty wide margin.

The only problem is Matt Coleman... is he going to play at Texas next yeR?

If so, he probably breaks the record pretty easily with the extra year.

Denver boards get mad MM doesn't start but he usually plays Monte more minutes and I think he likes coming off the bench but finishing quarters.
As long as he's getting his, and he is.

For years, Pop didn't start Ginobli.

I'm not sure what Portland should do, but McCollum at $30m for the next 3 years and getting nothing out of Derek Jones, Zach Collins, and Kanter for a combined $20m isn't great.
