2021 NBA playoffs thread

One point game, 17 seconds left. Are we gonna have another game like last night!?

So basically if you let the Hawks hang around, you're going to lose because Young will close it out.

Since Nate McMillan took over as Atlanta Hawks head coach, they are 13-2 in games decided by 5 points or less. That's amazing clutch performance. They have now won all Game 1s (all on the road) in this playoffs. They can't be overlooked. I still think the Bucks will win the series but the series might go at least to 6 games.

Hawks and Young cannot be overlooked. Someone here a day or two ago said he thought Bucks in 4 or 5. I don't buy it.

That was me and I stand by it. Milwaukee over looked Atlanta tonight. They got by Brooklyn and thought they could put it in cruise control.

If the real Bucks show up every night they should win this series easily.

The good news is so far all the conference final games have been close ones. I want to see more nail-biters and less blowouts.
You're probably right and I know you know more than I do about it and the teams!

The underdog Hawks have been pretty good so far though. Young is playing Young which doesn't bode well for the Bucks.

I really don't like Young, but respect the dude. What he does at his size is truly amazing. Hawks under McMillan are just so tough. They never back down and just keep fighting. Don't ever seem to be fazed by the moment. I think the Bucks will adjust and win the series but it will be a fight.

Budenholzer is overmatched. He has no plan to even try to contain Young, and his endgame plays suck. You really want Connaughton taking a 3 pointer with the game on the line?

That said, hopefully this was a wake-up call for Milwaukee. Atlanta ain't going away.

It was the first game. They will come up with something for Young. The plan to looked like they wanted Middleton to take the shot but when he was cut off he made the right pass. The guy was wide open.

The Hawks are always going to have an advantage in late games situations, if they keep the games close, they'll beat the Bucks just like they did Philly. Budenholzer vs Nate and Trae late in the game isn't good for the Bucks.

Gotta assume Middleton doesn't go 0-40 from 3 in the next game

Suns and Hawks

Didn't see that one coming a few years ago.

It's interesting to see a different strategy succeed, these two teams are very well coached and have a strong team culture. Teams like the Bucks and Clippers simply trying to outspend everyone hasn't worked out as planned. The super team strategy won't ever go away but teams like the Hawks and Suns this year and the Raps two years ago are proving it isn't a guaranteed ring.
