NFL: ***2020 NFL Draft Thread***

I'm hoping the Vikes go Jefferson, Terrel, and Jackson in the first two rounds.
Also hoping Lima, Spears, Jones and Knipfel have a shot a being late rounders.

I haven't paid much attention this year at all with everything going on. I had assumed they didn't have much chance at taking any ISU players. Although even ESPN (i know I know) a couple showed up on their best available. JGJ at 16 for OG, Lima is 22 at DT,

Denver’s trying to trade up for Jeudy according to Broncos insiders

Chiefs trying to trade up for a WR, sounds like Ruggs but they’ll have to move up a lot.

craziest thing I’ve heard is Atlanta trading into the top 5.

Detroit trading down from 3 to Miami. Miami wants to jump the Giants for a T, not a QB...Detroit wants Okudah but thinks he’ll be there at 5.

Madden gives Pierce a 91 and Linval an 86. PFF numbers for 2019 were about the same. Pierce is also 4 years younger. Vikings have one of the best D-line coaches in the league too. I trust their development of middle to late round guys over taking mid to late offensive lineman or corner
I'm very hopeful that he'll be good, but forgive me if his Madden rating doesn't hold much weight. PFF had him rated as the 44th best interior lineman last year. That's not the end all be all metric, but it's something. He's a hopeful question mark in my book. Nothing is certain enough on the DL, outside of Hunter. Not certain enough to pass on a guy like Kinlaw, who fills an entirely different role than a player like Pierce, anyway. Pierce is your classic space eating Nose. He won't likely play 3rd downs. Kinlaw penetrates. He's significantly more athletic.

I really like Kinlaw to be clear. Just don't think I value his position or contributions as highly. I will say. Had the Vikings drafts Simmons last year... Wow He was a beast for the Titans and appears similar. Thoughts on this mock (4 rounds)

There was an insane run on 2nd tier lineman between 58-89. So I think I would switch Claypool if I could re-do. Drafting 3 WR almost guarantees that one will be a really good option. 2 good outside corners makes me very happy. Then raw but talented DL prospects in the 3rd

Jefferson will likely go sooner, don’t see him going past the Eagles at 21.

Jackson is pretty raw but saw that he might be a late first rounder.

Going to be quite a scene with GMs drafting from their homes. Here's what John Lynch's home war room looks like...

Bills GM has a nice set-up:

Looking forward to how the Lions are going to screw up yet another top 10 pick. Too dumb to take the risk to draft Tua, also too dumb to draft Okudah without trading down a bit because CBs aren’t worth spending a #3 pick.

McShay has the Coronavirus so won't be partaking in the Draft coverage:

Adding Ruggs to the Chiefs offense feels unfair. They should be forced by the league to draft like a linebacker or some **** in the first round...just no more fast dudes on offense.

That does not seem like the needs that the Chiefs. I guess I can see taking a WR at #32 but they don't need to move up, pretty good group of WR's IMO. They need OL, CB's, LB's.

Agreed. If they just want another speed guy they could probably get someone like KJ Hamler in the third round. Certainly not much need to move up in a WR class this loaded.

Rumors that Gutekunst wants to trade up.....I'm daydreaming about Patrick Queen in the green and gold. He'd be an instant upgrade for them there.

My hot take: The Bengals should either draft Chase Young, or trade the #1 pick for a kings ransom. Then suck again for a year, and draft Trevor Lawrence next year.

As for my team (Bears), no pick tonight (unless they trade for it). They have 2 2nd round picks: immediate needs are OL, TE, DB, and WR. They should be able to get a good WR in the 2nd round since there are so many of them in this draft, but I'm sure they'll find a way to screw it up.
