***2020 Concert Thread***

I think I'm going to go see Rage and Run the Jewels in Sioux Falls of all places.

RTJ are amazing live. I love rap/hip-hop, but it can be sorta ****** live. They just crush it, though. And I can only imagine "Close Your Eyes (And Count to ****)" live with Zack. I'm super-jealous.

I'm trying to figure out between there and St. Louis. Busy time of year for me with finals and graduation.

I was debating on STL or KC and decided on KC. My wife better be on her game to get tickets on Thursday!!!!!!

Also doing Iron & Wine w/Calexico, and probably Hinterland.

I'm also trying to find someone to go to Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears w/me at Wooly's on a Wednesday in March (LINK). They weren't fantastic live when we saw them there a few years ago (I think the mix was just really terrible and they didn't swear), but I really love their music, so I'm hoping the next one would be better.

Not a lot on the docket so far for 2020, although lots of shows are being announced right now. Being picky on tickets this year.

So far have tickets for:

1/26 Wailers @ Washingtons, Fort Collins CO
3/5 Murder By Death w/ Slim Cessna's Auto Club @ Washingtons
4/12 Motet @ Steamboat Resort base (free show)
4/25 Sturgill Simpson w/ Tyler Childers @ Pepsi Center, Denver
6/3 Lord Huron @ Red Rocks
8/30 Black Crowes @ Red Rocks
9/2 Roger Waters @ Pepsi Center

Talk to me in a month, it will probably be a much longer list. Fingers crossed for a My Morning Jacket run at Red Rocks again.

When Rage just comes out and plays their music and don't do to much political talking between songs, its awesome. I have seen them both ways. With Cyprus Hill they just jammed. I also saw them do a show in Denver years ago where the music was secondary to the political stuff. I am getting tickets to Kansas city or St louis. So I am going.

I'm having a serious internal debate about whether I am too old and lame to go see Rage Against the Machine. 17 year old Clonefan32 wants so badly to go.

"**** you I wont do what you tell me (unless your my wife, kids, boss, tax advisor, the IRS, state/local government, my cardiologist or Dave Ramsey)" doesn't have the same effect.

After getting to see Soundgarden a few days before Chris Cornell died, my wife and I decided to make a list of all bands we have never seen but wouldn't miss if we had a chance. The fact that Rage is back and touring makes it a no brainer for me because I thought I would never get this opportunity.

Hell I was prepared to travel to El Paso or Las Cruces to see them before they added these more local dates.

I am very disappointed I will never get to see Audioslave play live. :(

Do you think they're doing a world tour just because it conveniently fit into their calendar? It's an election year, and a big one.

If you tire of Rage Against the Machine being political, then you really haven't been paying attention for the last 28 years.

Has anyone ever seen Iron & Wine live? I've got tickets for Thursday night at Hoyt Sherman, and have no idea what to expect. He's with Calexico.

Haha, I feel ya. I booked a room at the hotel next to the venue, but felt the correct thing to do would be to sleep in my car or sleep on the street. It's like Radiohead's No Surprises but real life.

Iron & Wine sounds great live. Definitely more of a low key vibe though.

Thank you! I figured it wouldn't be a "melt your face" experience or anything, but it seems like there are some mellow acts who translate better to live than others! That's great to know - thank you!

I want to say @jbindm has seen Iron & Wine a couple times? I know someone gave me a review before I saw him and I think it was him

I was honestly sort of double-thinking driving down to DSM on a Thursday night for a show, and wanted to know if it was worth the drive! I love the info - it helps! (I also don't entirely know what to expect from the Calexico combo thing.)
