2014 Bracketology

We are going to the tournament I don't care what anyone else thinks about the inexperience. I'd be a little more worried if it was our front court we were replacing, but Guard will always be a position of strength under Fred.

Talent will be there plus the big 12 will take 5 teams minimum...hard to think we won't be top 5 in our conference.

Agreed. Michigan is losing practically EVERYBODY - Hardaway Jr, Robinson Jr, and most importantly, Burke.
Glenn Robinson III is back, he didn't leave. They also return Mitch McGary, Nik Stauskas, Jordan Morgan, Spike Albrecht, Jon Horford, and Chris LeVert. That's a pretty good starting point, and they also add 5-star Zakarie Irvin 4-star Derrick Walton (Runner-up for Mr. Basketball in Michigan to Monte), and another 4-star in Mark Donnal. Anyone who thinks they aren't going to be good is nuts. Maybe a 2-seed is a little over zealous, but they are going to be GOOD.

I think 3 seed range is reasonable.

Michigan made it to Final Four as a 4 seed, but may've been more like a 1 seed in disguise == to large degree played itself out of a 1 or 2 seed with a few clunkers or missed opportunities ... plus look at how messy top 10 to 15 was all season.

New bracketology posted today.

- Seeds of note-

Kentucky still top seed overall

Iowa State a 12 seed

Kansas up to a 2 seed

Turd gurglers of Iowa City up to an unbelievable 6 seed

Please. Francine's ginger squad looked good against cupcakes and ACC afterthoughts last year, but teh sweetshop is closed. Francine won't be allowed to fill up on cupcakes, and I don't think she, or her freckled brood, is ready for a big-boy schedule. Dem hox is going to fall to Earth real, real fast next year, and probably shatter their massive, sloping foreheads.

Meanwhile, Roy Marble Sr. snortz another rail and tells everyone BJ Armstrong thinx Roy Jr. is a lottery pick.

Strong finish lifts recruiting prospects | Hawk Central

If you want a good laugh, read the first quote of this story.

Did I miss something? Was he talking about Iowa's mens gymnastics or wrestling teams because, if I remember right, the basketball played for (and lost) in an NIT championship this year. Either that's a misprint by the Reg's side web site or they're a little delusional as to what really went down.

Either way it made me laugh.

Hi everyone,

I do my own bracketology and the Big 12 is very hard to predict past the top 2. I see Texas, Iowa State, Oklahoma, and K State vying for the 4th spot and last Big 12 At-Large bid. All these teams have holes. I am going with Texas since the have good young talent returning. Yes they stunk last year and they are very young this year. It's a tough pick.

hahahaa..............that's like saying my poop smells better if i let it sit in the toilet without flushing for a week.

Maybe you missed the memo, but Niang is coming back to ISU with his friend Melvin. Hoiberg doesn't rebuild like Barnes, he reloads!

While I don't think Texas will stink as bad as some do, 4th place is a near impossibility.

Oh yeah love resurrecting dead bracketology threads. Any one know if more disciplinary actions are coming down for Iowa State. I can see you finish 4th. Who is you point guard going to be?

The real question is who's going to be starting for your Longhorns that will get them to a 4th place finish?

If you think Texas has a chance at finishing 4th, you really need to find a new hobby.

Just don't force another Big XII team in tournament. If you really think Texas is the 4th best team in the Big XII, there are obviously going to be other teams outside of this conference more deserving of a bid.

I am going with Texas since they have young guys returning that sucked last year, lost their top two scorers, and have Barnes as a coach. They stunk last year and they are very young this year. It's a tough pick.
