2010-2011 Roster

I'd be just fine with he and DG on the floor at the same time. If we play a more up tempo style of ball, these two could be fun to watch together. DG was really showing some strides towards the end of last season. I don't think the cupboard is nearly as bare as it seemed, even a week ago. Fred could have a fun team to play around with, while he works on recruiting his first class...

agreed i think this will be a fun team to watch...and hey if they win a few games it gets that much better! If this was going to be a throw away year anyway we might as well play around with the line-up

I think this season was going to be an absolute throw away no matter what. Would love to see us do a lot of running, gunning, and subbing. Lots of new players, and the easiest way to coach them to teach them defense, have a few inbounds plays, and let them run...

Let me know if I'm missing somebody but right now our roster looks like this---

Boozer
Christopherson
Dendy
Ejim
Garrett
Godfrey
Ingle
McKnight
Oliver
Palo
Phillips
Railey
Vanderbeken

still uncertain about Colvin but this sounds more promising than the roster did a few weeks ago.

PG: Garrett, Phillips, Palo
SG: Phillips, Scotty, Oliver
SF: Boozer, Ejim, Oliver
PF: Vanderbeken, McKnight
C: Dendy, Vanderbeken, Godfrey

Sounds like a team capable of winning the big 12 to me

THe crazy part is its looking like we will be starting 4 seniors and a Junior.

PG-DG-Senior
SG-Scott-Junior
SF-Booz-Senior
PF-JV-Senior
C-Dendy-Senior.

Good vetran core that will keep us in games and fans coming to games, and it opens up multiple scholarships. Having an NBA core for a coaching staff will help attract upper echelon recruits even if they are 1 or 2 and done types (those are the type needed to win big).

Just thoughts.........

I would bet Ejim will start at the 3.

Total Div 1 starts

Garrett 68
Christopherson 15
VBK 1
Dendy 1

One of the most inexperienced teams we have ever had - particularly in the front court. In order for us to be good, some of the new guys will really have to step up immediately.

Luckily, of all college sports, freshmen make the biggest impact in bball.

I think that it all depends on the system. IF Hoiberg can mold a system around his players then you could easily have a decent PG.
You mean one where you do not walk the ball up the floor and hold it near the mid court line? Heaven forbid.

What about Booze? You mean JVB?

i think garrett plays better this year without brackins. garrett should be labeled the leader and run with it. i also dont think that boozer starts. i think ejim's ability is too good to not start.

Today there is not a true big 12 pg on that roster. BUT...they haven't been coached by a guard yet either. Super excited to see what Fred can do with our guards.

I think one of Macs biggest downfalls was understanding the guard pos as he played center in his time. I think our guys will have to look at Fred and respect his teaching.
