2-2 start - Content or disappointed?

I am disappointed on how we keep killing ourselves and not giving us a chance to win, not the record. The second half of the UNLV game shedded some light on how we should play all four quarters not just two. 4-0 would be sweet right now, but being five hundred is not the end of the world either. There is a lot of growing to do on this team and we are seeing that right before our eyes more good ways than bad. I say lets go 4-0 in the next four games baby!! :biglaugh: Think of the glass half full not half empty.:cool:
 
Severely disappointed, but this is exactly what I predicted our non-conference season would amount to. Losses to Iowa and UNLV. I predicted we would scratch out at most 2 wins in conference, but I am hoping (blindly as I don't think we have played well enough for 2 wins yet) for much more.
 
Didnt know what to think going in. The 2nd half at UNLV was the best they played all year. I wasnt impressed with the way they played in the wins, it was sloppy to say the least. They played really bad vs Iowa and 1st half at UNLV. They really have not played a good team yet. I was hoping for bigger steps in year 2. I guess this far they are playing at the same level they were mid way through last season. They are better than the team that started last year but not better than the team that ended last year. I do think some key personall questions were answered at UNLV like QB and RB. They need to learn from that game and do the things that worked well, something ISU teams of the past have not done. Everyone in this program needs to step up and do better and I think they know it. I am not disappointed with the record just disappointed at the level of play this far.
 
Our best chance to win a game in Big 12 will be Nebraska unless we get a lot better.

Our offense still looks dismal at the wrong time and our defense gets poor position/angles to tackle.

Special teams is our strong suit.

Yards per game are Us: 356 and OPP: 362 This is an improvement over last year.

No more practice games left. I still think we underachieved for the first four games. The turnovers totally bailed us out in the first two games.

Penalties are worst than last year.
 
I am disappointed in the record...we all should be. However, I am quite content with the direction of the program from a talent, system/scheme, and aggressiveness standpoint. This is not BB where you can only play 5 and 1 or 2 guys can really make a difference. FB is a much different game...very difficult for 1 or 2 guys to make a big difference. I strongly believe we are on the path to great things.

I'm curious why all the talk about Baylor? They are 2-2 as well. They got drilled at home by Wake Forest. They beat a rather weak Northwestern State team from the FCS at home. They beat a very poor Pac 10 team in Washington State at home. And they lost their only road game at UConn. Their coach is in his first year of coaching Baylor but he had been the head coach at Houston for several years. Again, why all the talk about Baylor?
 
the team improved as the season went on last year. I expect the same thing to be true this year. We have 3 more wins in us.

I love the toughness of our team they never just give up!!But I am sad that we are 2-2 because the potential is there for more . I do believe we will improve as we go and catch some teams off guard!

Extremely disappointed.

Should be 4-0.

But I am still excited about the rest of the season. So much room for improvement and such a young team, yet seeing glimpses of really good things.
