Kudos to Fran's perspective as an "outsider" for ending that nonsense and doing both programs a favor. Some pretty horrible officiating @UNI recently for both Iowa and ISU, I never feel like the officiating in the Iowa/ISU series is anywhere near that consistently bad toward the home team.

100% correct!!!
 
There may have been a couple bad foul calls against Iowa, but there were also some fouls that got called against Xavier and Villanova when Marble and White drove to the hoop. They didn't get touched, but they would head to the free throw line anyway. I believe Van Gundy pointed it out a couple of times.
 
Villanova attempted nine more free throws than Iowa despite shooting 39 (!!) 3 pointers. Iowa is top 15 in the country in FTA per game and were constantly attacking the rim, and shot 9 less free throws than a team that did nothing but jack up three pointers. Something isn't right there.

It's called attacking the offensive glass. "Length" and "depth" mean very little when you aren't "athletic" and don't "box out"

You don't think that might be a result of some of Iowa's own home cooking and the very low level of competition that they played up until Villanova and maybe Xavier? Butt hurt tavernhawk is butt hurt. I really thought that the reffing was about dead even. And the foul out of McCabe was legit, it was an easy call and the right call. He hipchecked the shooter. I have heard nobody but butthurt tavernhawks talk about poor officiating in that game.

Most analysis was that the officiating was pretty good. The game should have been over after what should have been a McCabe Technical. But here we are with whining and crying hawk fans. Funny how completely benign the officiating lapses were in that game yet When the Whole sporting world talks about officiating costing ISU then we are terrible fans. Hawk trash is pathetic.

I will say that Jayhawk fans are freaking stupid. They latch on to the whole booing and Weatherwax thing and won't let it go. Every time they have a thread about ISU, idiots have to bring up those two things. Tired and lame. They just hate ISU because we exposed the bias of refs in the conference.

There's a reason why so many Hawk fans come to this site. It is well-ran and has a relatively low number of idiots (compared to other boards).
