I wish we had Lard at least. We're in some trouble right now with Young being out and Carter not Big 12 material. All we have is Holden down low, and he's a foul machine. Gonzaga will eat us alive down low. Hopefully we hit about 20+ threes to offset that.
The Zags are huge but their bigs are extremely foul prone, need to have Burton and Bowie be aggressive to draw fouls.
Zags will try and pound the ball inside all day long. There is really nothing we can do to stop them. If we collapse, the ball will get kicked out to our shooters. Our only hope is to have a good transition game and hit outside shots in the half court.
I think ISU can have some success scoring inside with their quickness. I do worry about their ability to keep the Gonzaga bigs in check on the other end. They're going to have to be physical and give up fouls and make Gonzaga earn their points from the line.
Seems weird to pick on this when he's pretty much spot on with his analysis, but isn't he aware ISU is in a power 5 conference?
ISU will need to play fast, get points in transition, and the bigs will have to run the floor to force the tempo on their posts. GU will have the have size but expressed concern with exhaustion. I expect a similar pace to a Kansas game (added benefit for Prohm to scheme and prepare for the Jayhawk matchup later this year). This will be a good test for ISU game to watch.

I thought the one little stretch we went to it against InSU it was effective. If nothing else it eats up some shot clock and can make them rush and force shots.

Yeah, it's hard to put this together. The description reminds me of Kane or maybe Royce. But even though Kane was old, he wasn't 26 years old. On this year's team it seems that they are talking about Deonte. But who knows? They don't seem particularly knowledgeable.
As an aside, they are very confident. Our fans could take a lesson from them.
Wrong. Dont try to come in here and one up the in depth analysis of some of the best minds in CBB. I remember last season that 90% for the season from the line should be the minimum expectation.
It was 2 years ago that Gonzaga trashed Iowa. And Iowa is the team that implodes every year. It sort of seems like they are confusing Iowa and Iowa State, but they do seem to know it is Iowa that they beat.
None of their comments speak well for the education at Gonzaga.
