No. It's a Waterloo thing.
And It's doing fine. A fire during construction delayed year one and limited some rides. This was year 2 and it was better. I'd encourage those of you with families to check it out in 2024.
The owner lives next door to my parents. They're already on the edge of profitable and he's got more big time rides coming. They're getting fantastic reviews and it'll end up doing really well. There's a bunch of restaurants coming out there and some other entertainment options.
It's approximately eleventy billion times nicer than Adventureland. It's a legitimate theme park and not just a collection of rides.

Yeah. Good for them but if I’m going to drive 2 hours I’ll just go 3 and go to worlds of fun in KC.
By chance, I was listening to a podcast on a mostly unrelated topic (travel on points and miles) and one of the hosts said he visited this theme park -- he's a roller coaster buff.
IIRC, his conclusion was that it was pretty nice and had some decent rides, but the decor/theme was very confusing. It was like they tried to get rights to a "known brand" (like Peanuts, Warner Bro's, etc) but were unable to at the last minute so had a very "generic" theme, and many rides with no particular theme at all.
That was right after Lost Island theme park opened, so may have changed since. And it was one random guy's opinion. Just odd that I happened to hear it!

Mamba is probably the ride the got me to fall in love with coasters. That said I haven’t been on it for a very long time.
I think the Orient Express was my first rollar coaster. I think they finally took it down. It was standing but out of operation for years.
My first roller coaster was the super screamer at Adventureland. Side note, kind of the surprised the Outlaw is still going - feel like you get a mild concussion every time you ride.
It's nothing compared to the last time I rode the dragon. Near the end that roller coaster had gotten unbelievably rough. I was in serious pain riding it.
Its not 2 hours for everyone, and many of those Worlds of Fun is much more than 3.
Pretty close for CR and all of NE Iowa, compared to anywhere else.
I wonder if that's the one where I bang my head every time.
Usually the first coaster I hit and I always banged my head. A nice headache for the rest of the day
I've been to the park about half a dozen times. It's an absolute blast. I am in Waterloo quite a bit to hang out with the in-laws. We end up rolling over to the park. They also have Dole whip (which is incredible).
If you are on the fence, go. It's a really nice park with incredible theming. I live in Ames and prefer Lost Island (than whatever Adventureland is).
As far as Worlds of Fun goes, it has way more coasters. If coasters are your thing, Lost Island is still growing and will be expanding in that area. It's a young park, and the family that owns it knows how to develop a theme (which will lead to better themed coasters).

Went to PhantomFest at Adventureland last night. They've upped their game a little in year 2 and appears they are slowly getting a larger budget.
I agree, I was responding to the guy saying Adventureland was in trouble. They are both mid level parks, and my point is if I’m going to drive to a park I’m driving a little further for something a little more.
