1-53-2

I was there for the one as well. Had extra tickets before the game and couldn't give them away (trust me, we tried). Had that missed field goal gone through, we probably would have left. Still get goosebumps thinking about the electric atmosphere that night. What a game. Quite remarkable how different things are now only four years later.

Let's not pretend that game wasn't the highlight of our iowa state athletics history. I would relive that game over and over for another 2-10 season. Sure going to bowl games and having 6 wins is great but none of those compare to that feeling.

Football, maybe. Athletics? No. Not even close.

Is there any stats on the worst record in college football vs. the top 5?

I'd assume with one win, ISU is, up there.

On the road with a ****** defense. I'm in absolutely no way predicting an upset, because we are going to lose. But if our playcallers get their heads out of their ***** the recipe for an upset is there. Run Warren, kill the clock to limit their possesions, and get lucky with turnovers. TCU is going to have 2-3 losses and finish the season outside the top ten.

Agreed. I'm not calling it either, but I think there is a significant chance of an upset. This team (ISU) has some talent and I don't think TCU is truly a top-ten team.

I do feel confident making this prediction though: if the defense doesn't blitz often or at least about three times as much as we did against Tech (one blitz every 12 plays or so) and send 6 guys / overload a side to force the QB to throw within 3 seconds on every possession, then we have no chance. It's more likely we'll see the rush 3 man cushion defense that was torched by Tech. If that's the case, there is no chance of an upset, and we'll probably get torched just as badly by TCU. I do feel confident saying that. We'll see on Saturday if the coaches finally get more aggressive. I truly think the defensive philosophy needs to change.

TCU has played some close games with so-so teams this year, and we have some talent. Like many on here, it could happen. I'm by no means calling it, though.

Had champagne in the truck for the last one and will have champagne ready for this one.

I was there in '92 when ISU beat then #7 ranked Nebraska 19-10. Went into the game cheering for 1st downs, never imagining ISU beating Nebraska. The 'Clones started a QB that hadn't started a game before at ISU, he only rushed for over 144 yards in the game. It was Tommy Fraziers only loss to a Big 8 school. It was Tom Osbornes only loss to a Big 8 school with a losing record.

Was in Lincoln in '77 when ISU beat then #9 ranked Nebraska also. I've never heard a stadium so quiet when we were walking out. Yes, I'm old lol...I can remember Terry Rubley, Dexter Green and Tom Boskey...

Miracles can happen, just don't expect one on Saturday.
