*****The Super, Mega, Huge Big 12 Expansion Thread*****

Breach of contract (A&M) or Tortious interference with a contract (SEC). I'm actually quite in favor of this move, and I think KU, KSU, Mizzou, Baylor, and possibly TT should all be in this camp as well. If any of these schools end up harmed by A&M's departure, the law provides for them to...

*****The Super, Mega, Huge Big 12 Expansion Thread*****

I guarantee it's going to happen to A&M unless they're able to negotiate a deal with the Big 12 to leave (similar to Nebraska). They've signed a contract to be a part of the Big 12 for a number of years. That contract doesn't go away just because their feelings are hurt by UT. The SEC may be...

*****The Super, Mega, Huge Big 12 Expansion Thread*****

I would like to see the Big 12 take a very aggressive approach, but in my opinion and aggressive approach is not limited to adding schools. The Big 12 should sue the bejeezus out of A&M and the SEC for breach of contract, tortious interference, etc. for the maximum amount possible. I would...

    Any Update on Henton?

Agreed. I'm not terribly upset about losing him. He may very well end up being a nice college player, but I'd rather we swing for the fences in 2012. The descriptions of him as "not a great athlete, but good enough" and "not a great shooter, but good enough" don't leave me with the impression...

    James Carpenter-Seattle

Osemele is far and away the best draft prospect on the team. With a good year, he'll be a first round pick. I don't think anyone else on the team is going to challenge for the 1st or 2nd round. Both Knott and LJ will get drafted, but I think it'll be more in the 3rd-4th round range...

Cornell Mann arrested for OWI in Dayton, OH Tuesday

Probably was having some purple drank... he's gotta be able to relate to the kids for recruiting.

    Henton OR Ashaolu

Neither. Ashaolu doesn't add much to the team for next year and is IMO a big risk in terms of team chemistry. He's made it pretty clear that he wants to play on the wing and score a lot so that he has a chance at the NBA. I'm comfortable with what we have coming back on the wings, and don't...

    Matt Abdelmassih a new assistant?

I like the hire. A few other thoughts to add to the mix: 1) The staff is always going to be evolving. TJ isn't quite so green as he was when GMac hired him. Maybe at this point they'd rather TJ spend less time recruiting and more time teaching/coaching... 2) This has to be a huge...

    Barnes Will Stay

It's our chance for poetic justice. I can see it now...UNC enters the tournament as a huge favorite, and ISU makes it as an 8 or 9 seed. ISU vs. UNC in the second round...could the Clones send Skype Barnes' college career to an early end?

    MLB: Cashner, Wells to DL

What a "Cubbie Occurrence." The Cubs dump Silva and trade Gorzelanny because they have an abundance of starters and then this happens. In addition, Jay Jackson, another top pitching prospect who'll be in DSM this year, is injured right now. I would guess it's going to be Coleman and Russell...

    Classy Iowa Fans

Re: Crowd Was Generally Good Having grown up in the Hawks' backyard, my two cents is that UI fans who actually attended the university, are donating money to the university, or have some sense of ownership in the university on a continuing basis are fine. For example, if you go tailgating in...

    Bye, Bye Nebraska

I don't get it. This isn't a all that tough a schedule. Penn State and Michigan both suck... Iowa State and K-State are better than either of those teams. Iowa, Northwestern, and Michigan State are all likely to be middle of the pack Big 10 teams next year (read: very average). Wisconsin on...

    Quarterback in 2011

I'm not even close to ready to write off Tiller. He's attempted fewer than 100 college passes, some of them in extremely difficult games/situations, and has completed more than half of them. For those who like comparisons, Sage Rosenfels completed 51.5% of his passes his senior (Insight.com...

BASKETBALL RECRUITING: JUCO PG visiting next week

He was 1st Team All-Region (and Freshman of the Year) last year as a freshman in a pretty competitive JUCO league. Averaged 16.6 pts and 5.3 rebounds as a FR, shooting 50% from the field, 82% from the FT line, and 44% from 3. Also averaged 36 points per game as a HS senior in Oklahoma...

***Official NIU @ ISU Post Game Thread***

I'm not as down on our lines as some on this board. We weren't playing UNI. NIU is a good team and Chad Spann, their RB, may just play in the NFL. NIU more than held their own against Big 10 teams last year (280 yards rushing vs. Purdue...only 156 tonight). Our D-line didn't get much...

Williams Blog: Notes on White & the future

I've got to think that TJ & Freddie can make a heck of a sales pitch to Naadir Tharpe at this point. That lineup just screams for a talented PG to come in to run the show. [Not that I'm discounted Odunsi, but two talented PGs are better than one, and I think Odunsi is big enough that he and...

    Basketball Notebook: 2010 Scholarship count

I saw Thames play a couple of times this year. His game is actually pretty similar to Colvin's in that he's not much of a shooter (at least at this point). He was a little more in control than CC, and actually started some games for Wazzu. He'd be an excellent pickup this late in the game.
