Been gone awhile…..I’ve missed you all. Had some major health issues, been to Iowa City (!!!!!) and Mayo. On Wednesday they are putting me on the lung transplant list. But I’m still here……
I can remember some escapades at the Hat.....haven't been there in many years. I still owe you a beer at Lefti's, though. I'd even spring for some Tico.
The social sciences were my best subjects: Geography, history, etc. And I was an English major in College, I switched to JLMC when I got to ISU.
I was like you, Angie - good at math, but absolutely hated it. It tended to constrict my creativity. ;)
The vixen lived through the Manson tornado in 1979 (she was 18) and she still gets apprehensive when she sees dark clouds, or if the wind comes up suddenly.
That tornado was odd in the sense that it came out of the northwest, not southwest as tornadoes generally do. Plus it was a bluebird day...
So our President, CFO, and CEO-in-waiting came up yesterday for my farewell luncheon. The President handed me a couple envelopes and thanked me profusely for all I have/had done for the company. Later I looked, there was several thousand dollars in cash in the envelopes. I was stunned.
But it's...
I didn't watch any post-game stuff, did Budenholzer mention the no-call on Booker when he bear-hugged Holiday on that fast break? No-calls like that tend to lead to rough (over-the-top) physical play. Luckily it was near the end of the game.
Connaughton was important for Milwaukee last night. 11 and 9 off the bench, including a big 3 to give them a lead. He's more than made up for the loss of DiVincenzo.
There must be a name for the mania that takes over at auctions. I've seen lots of similar activity.....makes you wonder if people really don't know the value of things, or they're just excited to be the high bidder.
