Which of our MBB seniors is definitely done after this year? And which can return for another year if they choose to?

I see no reason why Brockington would come back. He looks like he can play at the next level and another year in college won't speed up the path he would have to take to get to the NBA whether that is the G league or overseas possibly if he doesn't get drafted. The rest probably are not going to make it to the NBA but could possibly get a shot overseas so it's basically peraonal decision of are they eady to move on or do they want to stay another year.

I don’t have a crystal ball, but I would think Gabe, Jaz, Brockington, and big George are all done after this season. I just don’t think there would be a benefit for all to stay for their continued basketball future. Just my opinion.

Do people really not want Jaz back? I wouldn't mind keeping him another year. He brings that stretch 4ish into play.

I definitely want Jaz back. Still upside with him , imo. Can hit the '3', good free throw shooter, could work on his one-on-one defense more. Don't know anything about his family life etc., but hopefully he and Grill will be teammates again next year.

You have a point. Aside from Brockington, I'm not sure any of them have a future necessarily in pro basketball. Not sure what any of them are majoring in or if they have job prospects. I suppose if any of them do come back it would be for love of the game, or to finish up coursework or something of that nature. If they love the game and they have come to the realization that they are playing at the highest level of competition they ever will, they might come back for one more ride. Think Jordan Bohannon.

I think all four of them would be obvious "takes" if they want to come back.

Brockington is a monster.

Kalscheur is limited offensively but a high-level defensive stopper. He's played a lot of college basketball and has played more within himself the past couple of weeks. He's likely to be better than Lipsey and Eli King as freshmen and probably better than any replacement you're going to find in the transfer portal, and needing to find *two* replacements for Brockington and Kalscheur is much to ask of TJ.

Kunc has really come on these past few weeks. He's an elite outside shooter.

Conditt doesn't have the highest ceiling for a big man, but good bigs are notoriously hard to find in the portal and in high demand from the blue bloods of the sport. I'm fine with TJ recruiting over him -- or over anybody really, save maybe Hunter -- but he's at least a high-floor option at this point.

So I invite all four back, find out which ones want to, and then plan from there.

I don't think anyone is saying they would not welcome any of these guys back. What I think most of us are saying is there is no benefit to any of them as far as furthering their pro prospects to come back so their decisions are going to be based on if they want to extend their college career 1 more year or do they have plans to play on some level professionally next or move on to their job career path next. We don't know what their goals and aspirations are, after 4-5 years already in college they may just be ready to move on from school and start their next phase of life or maybe they have enjoyed it so much they want to come back for 1 more year of it before then. Think of where you were at in college after 4 years just having classes to deal with and not having to balance that along with the grind of playing a sport to balance your time too. I think we tend to forget the time commitments these guys have both with their sport and in the classroom.

We as fans just don't know what they find important at where they are at right now. We can selfishly hope they max out their eligibility and come back for another run but what we want and what they want may not be the same. It's the same argument we have here every time we talk about a player possibly leaving early to go pro in a sport. "Why wouldn't thy come back for another year? The NBA/NFL/etc will still be there and we have a good team coming back they may improve their draft stock." Well that is not our choice to make just like its not our choice to decide if any of these guys want to come back for another year or are ready to play professionally somewhere or take a job offer and move on to their to the next phase of their life.

I can see IB and George (maybe with a little nudge from TJ) moving on. I would think Gabe and Jaz would seriously consider coming back.

If they all come back, someone else has gotta go. Who knows where Tre or Jaden's heads are at after getting the hot/cold treatment all year. If Brockington stays, at least it would eliminate the need to go out and get an alpha dog in the portal. If only Brockington leaves and nobody transfers out, and suddenly our scholarship situation is resolved, we might be in trouble for next year.

I guess all I'm saying is some of these guys might need to move on. Thank them for their year(s) of service and wish them well.

It will work out. It always does.

I love all these guys, but considering there are two guards coming in with the next recruiting class, I would imagine I'd want any of the four seniors back before Jackson and Walker.

Lipsey or King slots in for them nicely. We don't have another 6'10" true center incoming.
