    Next coach?

Cael is sitting in wrestling mecca, churning out championships like water out of the spigot. Two Olympians this year out of NLWC, and a couple of USA backups. His experiment is just coming to fruition. He's not going anywhere.

    Next coach?

Except they'll still have PD2 and PD3 to contend with for a year.

    Oklahoma Dual

Phenomenal troll job. A brilliant combination of sincerity and smartassery, to make everyone pause to read a second time, thinking, "Did I just read what I thought I read? " Yet, the offending party is going, "Hell, yea!!!"

    The Dean-Hodge Breaker

    Okay. I'm good with that.

    The Dean-Hodge Breaker

He has not dominated 184 this year. At 184, he is 4-0 and has 2 MFF. ONE of those 4 was a major of a 2-10, 151st ranked wrestler. Nolf, IMar, Snyder, Dean, Retherford, Nickal and others chew those guys up and spit them out, every time. Your kid isn't even reaching your first criteria of...

    The Dean-Hodge Breaker

I absolutely do not agree. Sounds like you would like to change years of history so that it suits your son. Did you ever argue for something like this for someone other than him?

    WrestleStat Week 10 Rankings - 2016-2017

What he's actually doing is biding his time until he cracks the ELO math. Of course, that's likely to be in 2022, with his engineering school background. Until then, he'll continue to emotionally question the results of a strictly math-based system of ranking.

    The Dean-Hodge Breaker

I'll let you argue that to the committee that chooses the Hodge, and see how that goes for you. Look at the criteria, and tell me if you see any of what you just said in the criteria.

    The Dean-Hodge Breaker

Oh, I get it. If your kid beats Dean, you will unilaterally declare your kid the Hodge winner. Meanwhile, the actual Hodge will go to Retherford or Imar. But, at least PD3 will have Retherford or Imar's eternal thanks. So, there's that.

    1-10-17 Intermat Rankings

    Pretty reasonable assessment, I'd say.

    WrestleStat Week 10 Rankings - 2016-2017

I missed that the loss to #40 was a forfeit. So, that makes his average loss #10.5. Some of his wins, though, are to 106, 109 and 126. In the ELO system, when an expected outcome is reached, there's not a lot of change. However, his ranking jumped up 6 spots, by beating #54. A win against a...

    WrestleStat Week 10 Rankings - 2016-2017

Which way do you want him to go? Wrestler rank of average loss: 17 Wrestler rank of average win: 72 (only counting wins against guys that have a ranking, 2 don't)

    WrestleStat Week 10 Rankings - 2016-2017

Yeah, my bad. The #14 gets a major against an unranked guy.

    WrestleStat Week 10 Rankings - 2016-2017

I'm absolutely serious. A #14, with only 5 matches, loses to a UR wrestler. First, he's only got 5 matches, which, in your system means he isn't going to change much, no matter whether the guy he beats is unranked or is #1. The #15, who now has 10 matches, is getting close to the "magical...

    WrestleStat Week 10 Rankings - 2016-2017

Interesting. A #14 wrestler majors an unranked wrestler and doesn't move out of the #14 spot. And, a #15 wrestler beats #8 and #10, and slides up 6 spots into #9. The #14 has now wrestled 5 matches and the #15 has wrestled 10, getting very close to the number of matches required to really...
