    @ChiTribHamilton NotreDame AD Jack Swarbrick on report of non-football sports to Big 12: "I have no idea what prompted that." Wouldn't be the first time an AD lied for PR purposes, but who knows how this will play out.

    Directv question

    Our DVR receivers do the same thing after they've been on for a while. My solution is to turn off the receiver, then actually pull the plug on it for about 30 seconds. Plug it back in and let it boot up. Seems to clear up the slowness for a while. I'm guessing they have some kind of a memory...

    Verizon home internet coming to metro

    My parents just got fiber to their house in North Liberty through Southslope. 20 down / 5 up for less than I pay for my slow DSL. Apparently they want to start offering TV over it eventually.
