    *** Official #6 IOWA STATE vs #2 Houston Game(Day) Thread ***

Houston last night looked to me like what the Press Virginia teams always wanted to be but were not skilled enough to be.

    STUDENT CHANT

10 seasons ago we spent the rest of the game chanting F*** McGary after that Michigan player accidentally stepped on Naz Long. Have whatever opinion you want of it. But this is nothing new.

    We Will Fundraiser, February 7

Can't imagine spending $5,000 per seat to be at an event half-filled with my rival's fans, listening to their coach work the room for half the night, knowing that half of the money is going to their NIL program.

    Nick Saban retiring

I agree. I don't think Franklin is a great hire for Bama. I'm just skeptical that they will get their Plan A or B (or even C or D). It's hard to think of a place where the expectations will be more out of whack with the tools moving forward. The fanbase will expect Saban levels of success while...

    Nick Saban retiring

My money is on Norvell or Franklin. Lanning etc. won't take the job. Alabama is not an elite job in the SEC once you remove the Saban of it all. Its recruiting ground and NIL capacity are worse than at least five conference opponents. Norvell might want to GTFO of the ACC as it is. And Franklin...

    ***2024 Minnesota Vikings***

Non-mutual opponents next year: Vikings - Falcons, Giants, Jets Lions - Bucs, Cowboys, Bills Packers - Saints, Eagles, Dolphins Bears - Panthers, Commanders, Patriots So the Bears catch a break but Detroit and Green Bay should both have tougher goes than Minnesota at least.

    Raising Canes Sucks

Cane's is fried chicken for people who don't care for spices or seasoning. For the rest of us, there are far better places like Zaxby's, Popeyes, or Bojangles. Though sometimes you have to make sure you find a good one. There are a lot of bad locations of each of those chains.

    New Big 12 Arenas (2023-2024)

The MBB team also played there in 2015-16. Nader hit a game-winning three with 0:11 left. Also, IIRC, that was just before they reoriented the court and rotated it 90 degrees. Would be strange to go back and have it be the same building, but a lot different viewing experience like that.

    ***2024 Minnesota Vikings***

I guess he’s banked 7 more losses where he could coach like Tom Manning before any criticism might be warranted.

    ***2024 Minnesota Vikings***

And his record in games decided by 7 points or less this year is 4-7. In at least half of those losses, a key decision that he made toward the end didn't work. Not sure how that's complicated to understand. I'm not saying to fire KOC but I am saying that his turtling at the end of the Bears...

    ***2024 Minnesota Vikings***

KOC has a big portfolio of not giving Minnesota the best chance to win at the end in a close one, but this may take the cake. Two straight tush pushes with Brandon Powell of all people behind to assist the QB. This isn’t our season ever since Cousins got hurt but man it still stings to lose...

    ***2024 Minnesota Vikings***

If the Vikings end the season 8-9 or 9-8, maybe in the playoff or maybe just missing out, then they are unlikely to be in a draft position where a high end QB will be available. I would support a short term Cousins extension if it came at a reasonable price. But Cousins will likely command more...

Will ISU make a Bowl Game? YES! Which One? LIBERTY BOWL 12/29

One of the best ever turnouts for a bowl of that tier I would imagine. Hardly any of them sell out and actually are packed, too.

Will ISU make a Bowl Game? YES! Which One? LIBERTY BOWL 12/29

Reminds me of the 2012 Liberty Bowl. I can't remember if we were supposed to be home or away. But our fans were originally supposed to be on the press box side, meaning Tulsa's would be opposite the cameras and thus visible on the broadcast. The bowl and schools agreed to swap sidelines and put...

If ISU had won against kansas, who would be in the title game?

I agree on OU and I think we beat KU if both teams play the same type of game. They were a letter grade better than us that night.
