Well, obviously being ethical in College athletics is paying the bills, I'm still going and will continue to go to games. I love ISU because they do things the right way. Sometimes they win and unfortunately a lot of times they don't, but they won't sell their integrity to win. They work at it and learn from what they aren't able to do as well as what they are. Higer education athletics can pay the bills with ethics, because the compensation is based on not being a leach. The university realizes that there is value in demonstrating the values of the majority of the real ISU faithful and ignoring the spoiled brats that are willing to steal, lie and cheat to look good to people that 99% of Iowans don't give a damn about. JP is not a door to door salesman or a scumbag grabbing for his own dollars. He is infact paid to improve the integrity and reputation of ISU and its athletic program. I'm am ashamed that there are fans like you who blieve that cheating to win is more important in our identity, than winning with class and integrity.
JP is tyring to make our facilities competitive with someone who wins more than 3 games a year. Right now they are just getting there. Give the teams time.
They are called student athletes for a reason. They are here to become better people and to try and win games second. I don't think that we ignore the second part here, but look at at guys like Lane Danielson, Arnaud, Peterson, Austin Flynn, and R.J. Summerall and ask them where ISU athletics has failed them.
It's a history that goes back and includes people like Fred Hoiberg, Gary Thompson and others who are pillars and respected throughout their profession. I want to see people like that coming out of ISU. Not liars, Cheaters and the likes of you.
While you are correct, winning and integrity are not mutually exclusive. Integrity can and will continue to pay the bills if I and the true ISU fans have anything to say about it. The majority of the ISU fans understand this.
