Anybody else watch the US comeback in the bottom of the ninth? Good to see the guys taking care of business.

How could you not be... Besides the world series it is as real as it gets. 70+ rating in asia..

Watch the last five minutes of the USA vs. PR and tell me it doesn't matter...

Just what I was thinking. The players on both sides were way into it. I have not seen players celebrate like that outside of clinching in the postseason.

What a great game.

Because it's not the best players. Because it's spring training and the players aren't really ready. Because the manager is more worried about keeping people healthy and making playing time for players (Rollins for half a game and Jeter half a game)? Because a double elimination tournament in baseball means absolutely nothing.

Honestly, I don't personally know a single person who really cares about this. I am rooting for the US, but I'm not emotionally attached to it at all. I'm glad that the players really care about it. Why else would they agree to do it? I do really respect those who agreed to participate. It's probably a pretty good feeling to wear USA across the chest.

There are a lot of us who do care about it and watch the games, take your negativity somewhere else.

I'll betcha more players are ready than you think. They don't just sit on the couch in the offseason with a bag of chips and do nothing all day (unless your name is CC Sabathia).

I care. I love watching these games. The only time we get to see the absolute best players play is during the All-Star break. I may not be emotionally attached, but I still love watching baseball all the same.

The dog pile at the end was awesome. It was something to see a Red Sox and Yankee tackling a Met with total jubilation on their faces. I am typing this with tears in my eyes after reading the Yahoo article.

I really think part of the reason people don't seem to care is because thats what the media is telling us... You can say it's not the best players but it's pretty darn close. The average fan and reporter may think that Joe Nathan is SOOO much better than a guy like Matt Thornton but a scout or insider will tell you that they are pretty close... There are some minor kinks in the format and what not, but it's damn good baseball.

This was a great game, I loved seeing the emotion of team U.S. after the comeback.

By players not being ready, I more so meant the pitchers. I think I would put a lot more stock into the tournament if starting pitchers were at the point where they could go deep into games. Look at that game against Venezuela. Gallaraga was doing really well against the US, and then they went to their pen in I believe the 5th, and they couldn't get anyone out.

The emotion was very cool. They really wanted it. That last pitch of the game wasn't a bad one, either.

Sounds like Evan Longoria will take Chipper's spot if he is over his virus.

Curious, is Longoria as complete a player as he appears to be? He really impressed me a lot last year, and seems like a really cool guy. Does he have the full skill set or what? It appears he is pretty good in the field, and on offense he can hit for power and average, and has some quicks on the bases. At least that is how I remember last season.
