Speed camera

Take the ******* things down and stop trying to have government shake people down. That's all this is. A money grab. It's not about safety. It's about money.
So take 3 minutes of your time and instead of going 80 go 75, that way they don't get your money. It's really not that complicated.

I go through the Prairie City one twice a week and instead of crying i simply reduce my speed for a couple minutes and let all the clueless suckers flipping me off find out the hard way.

It certainly is. If this is actually legal, I'm not sure why each tiny township along the interstates don't go ahead and put speed cameras in. They can all claim it's for safety reasons, I suppose.
Webster City put a set out on Hwy 20 and another set down on 17 just north of the park. They are both a cash grab.

How about realizing this is government at its lowest level. This isn't about safety. This is about filling the coffers of the government and whatever business that gets a cut of the funds.

It's garbage.

That's great if your aware of every place in Iowa that has them.

Lol, if only there were a way to keep them from making money off it
If the state isn't going to ban them, they should prevent local municipalities from collecting the revenue from them. Instead, direct the fines to a statewide fund, like benefiting K-12 education. That will be the ultimate test of if this about "safety" or a money grab. I am sure you will see these cities ripping them down and speedchecking with actual police to keep revenue up.

Why do you have to reduce your speed? Are you going over the limit? If so, it seems hypocritical of you to chastise people complaining about these.

Is it time for another hemorrhoidal rage against speed cameras? It's been a while since the last flare up.

Where are we at? Have we gotten to the "It's not about Speed. It's about Greed!" part yet? Shakedowns and money grabs?

Has the topic of Cedar Rapids made an appearance yet?

And **** Cedar Rapids while we're at it.
