Man, Izzo really should have hung it up about a decade ago.
Its the basketball version of the Saban and Dabo phenomenon, but on steroids.Michigan State isn't very good though.
And Tom Izzo isn't Tom Izzo from even 5 years ago.
The post is real. Anyone who played basketball knows defense and working hard isn’t the thing that’s easy. I hope we have the guy in TJ who finds the magic formula for guys that want to win, get better, and also get to a next level. Seems like a tough needle to thread this day and ageIts the basketball version of the Saban and Dabo phenomenon, but on steroids.
Makes me recall a time OVER a decade ago when it his tough love no nonsense shtick delivered to us, not one, but TWO key pieces on OG version Transfer U and Transfer U 2.0, respectively.
If not for Izzo being Izzo, AIN'T NO WAY Chris Allen and Korie Lucious (literally Final Four guys) would have given Ames a second look...let alone even pick up the phone! Izzo thought he was giving their careers the proverbial kiss of death, And he was, too.
Back then, nobody wanted anything to do with transfers. Nobody dared cross Izzo Especially ones written off by the likes of a legend. He was judge, jury, and executioner. Wanna get exposure on the biggest stage? Wanna make your singular dream come true?
Just sign here.
-Guys like Izzo were the only game in town, and it was their way or no way, no matter the circumstance.
-Now there's NIL. They have freaking agents. They have options now.
-Sending Izzo packing, one way or another, would be the ultimate irony/poetic justice here. Is it possible?
[Side note: Korie Lucious had that saaaauce. Didn't always work, but talk about underrated. Especially from purely an entertainment value standpoint.]
Top contender for Ohio State. Beth better act quick before Fran slips away.Iowa better lock that contract up for a few more years with Fran or they may lose him.![]()
watching channel 8 sports and man is scott R hyped up and now ia is in the talk and looking to sweep the next 4 games. and then they are in.Iowa is back on the bubble
If they lose @Illinois and win out and beat a bubbly team like Nebraska in the BTT then they’ll prolly make a play-in game. I don’t think it’ll happen but would be hilarious and another excuse to let Fran run out his contract. The problem now is with 16 wins and likely to pick up at least 2-3 more, their will be large public outcry from their fans, the media, and their fan media, about how they got snubbed wrongly by the committee and why their resume was better than team A, B, or C bubble team that makes it in over them. It will be the "it wasn't a fair catch" whine all over again. Which now that I'm thinking about it might actually be kind of entertaining lol
It is time to give Fran his props. They just beat a Tom Izzo led team in their own house, trotting guys like Pr. Sandfort, Brock Harding, ladji Dambele, and Even Brauns out there for a combined 27 minutes. Fran should be winning conference coach of the year titles and other B1G coaches should be losing their jobs for losing to him and the Missouri Valley conference roster he is rolling out there on an annual basis. I would love to see Iowa go thru just one season in the Big 12, because then I am fairly confident he would've been exposed by now. Steve Prohm could've guided the 2020-21 Cyclones to a .500 record in the current B1G
Connor is like the college sophomore going back to the high school homecoming dance.
I don't know the guy, but he just doesn't seem to me like a good person. Probably because of histrionics like this:

Hawks are on the map
If we had a former player doing this we would be all for it. I'm just sayin'.Connor is like the college sophomore going back to the high school homecoming dance.
Does Fran still have the clause that making the tourney is an auto one year extension? If they lose @Illinois and win out and beat a bubbly team like Nebraska in the BTT then they’ll prolly make a play-in game. I don’t think it’ll happen but would be hilarious and another excuse to let Fran run out his contract.
Tyrese Haliburton >>>>>Connor McCafferyIf we had a former player doing this we would be all for it. I'm just sayin'.
You'd be against an average former Cyclone being involved?Tyrese Haliburton >>>>>Connor McCaffery
George Naing >>>>>>>Connor McCaffery
And you are right. I would be all for it if those two former Iowa State players would do the same thing.
