Senior Eligibility

He is the same weight as Rob on the roster (255lbs) and I'm willing to bet he gains another 5-10lbs since that weight was recorded. I think he will have the style of play a lot like Dickinson from Kansas. BTW Dickinson is 260lbs.
That would be great. Or maybe another 'Dirk'! He is a good shooter.

And he's long and still very young. I wouldn't call him "slight". He has a pretty sound build for a tall guy. Keep in mind JT would only be a very young senior in High School right now, if still in South Dakota. He's still 17, I think, and his BD isn't until Aug/Sept (not sure about that).

I'd have to imagine we're a highly attractive option for mid-major guy who's maybe not as fully developed or polished. Immediate playing time + our staff has built quite the resume of post player development between Jones and Ward and Kunc. Heck, Jones is probably in position to play a bit overseas if he wants after this.
Mid-major post? How about Freeman from Iowa? ;)

Ward is kind of the blueprint for us in the transfer portal. Get a guy with potential from a league like the A10 or Mountain West.

The other thing is that we don't need those bigs to have any offensive talent at all - other than putbacks, dunks and lobs. They need to be big, strong, rebound well and have good defensive awareness. And we've got 40 minutes of PT to offer, because I don't think anyone on the roster currently is playing the '5' next year except in special occasions

I think physically Omaha could play the '5' in a Hoiberg style 5-out offense, but I don't see TJ going that route. Also I think JT Rock will be more of a "stretch 4" initially rather than a '5', just given his skillset and slight build.
I believe TJ will play to a team ability. Hence why we had an easy non-con. Learn & learn some more. Players and coaches.

Way way too early to worry about but I'm not sure if Watson is big enough to play the 4? Starting line up of Lipsey, Gilbert, Jones, Milan, (Rock/Omaha?).

Watson, Fish, Omaha or Rock, Hamilton, Pav, Indrusitis.

We're not going to play 11 guys.

Looks we need another big 4 or 5 to anchor this thing but loaded none the less, or crowded another way to put it.

Ps Also possible Milan goes off and gets into lottery territory. Probably not likely but I've heard he's getting some chatter with scouts.

It'll be interesting to see how TJ wants to play. He's only played small when he had no other choice but I think we'd want to play as much as possible with Lipsey, Gilbert, Jones and Milan all on the floor. If you're playing those 4, I think it would just fine going with a new 5, Rock, Watson, Omaha and Fish in the front court.

Then Blum and Co could more or less go all in on one big guy to start at the 5.

I think that lineup gets beat up in the Big XII. As for Watson at the 4, I think it works in spurts when Momcilovic is in at the 3.

We really need a 4 and a 5 from the portal even if Biliew and Rock are ready. Seasons are long and guys get banged up.
I can't remember the last time we didn't have somebody transfer out so I'm assuming a spot will be open.
