2024 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nominees announced

Arguments for Cher to be inducted:
* At least one Billboard #1 song for seven straight decades.
* Was married to Gregg Allman ... for about 9 days. Can't get much more "rock & roll" than that!
Gregg Allman is not in.

Some others I'd support in the CUPPED Hall of Fame are...

America, BTO, Bad Co., Bad Finger, Boston, ELP, The Guess Who, Jethro Tull, Rainbow, REO Speedwagon, Styx, Super Tramp, Three Dog Night, Pete Townsend and Joe Walsh.

I know he had a stretch of good music, but Lenny Kravitz for HOF?

Dude, “Are You Gonna Go My Way” alone rocks harder than anything the rest of the nominees have ever done, besides Ozzy. It is the essence of rock.

Cindy Blackman (Carlos Santanas wife) murders the drums on that track. She's up there with Sheila E (whose dad and uncle coincidentally were in Santana) for me, for badass female musicians.

100%, yes. I started drums for just a couple years in high school and a huge part of it was after seeing Cindy just tear that song up. Have you watched the Netflix documentary On “We Are The World?” Sheila E is in it and is fascinating.

My power rankings of the top five are roughly:

1 - Oasis
2 - Mary J (so influential still)
3 - Lenny (for his early career)
4 - Ozzy
5 - Rakim

I would put Foreigner and Sinead up there shortly after that, probably? Sade is great, but fairly niche.

The RaRHOF has jumped the shark, years ago. The following are all jokes to even be considered.

Mary J. Blige
Mariah Carey
Cher
Kool & the Gang
Oasis
Sinead O'Connor
Sade

Should just have an arena rock year and get the following bands inducted:

Foreigner
REO
Styx
Boston
Motley Crue
Bad Company
