49ers - Brock Purdy - Still and Always #1

More rushing yard (1200+) and 36 TD passes to only 6 interceptions.

for starters his Quarterback Rating and QBR were MUCH better in 2019 than this year.

Quarterback Rating in 2019 was 113 vs 102 this year
-1) Purdy was 113 this year
- 2) Dak was 2nd at 105.

QBR in 2019 was league leading at 83 vs 64 this year.
-1) Purdy was 72 this year
-2) Dak was 72 this year
-3) Josh Allen was 69 this year

threw for 36 TDs in 2019 vs 24 this year.

Rushing he rushed for 1200 yards in 2019 vs 821 this year

I'm not necessarily saying Purdy deserved it, but Lamar's numbers were not all that great. He didn't become MVP favorite until that Christmas Day game vs the Niners and that's why this award is just a recency biased award.
When was the last time QB that led the league in QBR and better than 9 yard per attempt didn’t win the MVP? The anyone but Purdy for MVP campaign made Jackson this year’s MVP. He was the last hurdle for Purdy but he failed to clear the final hurdle.

More rushing yard (1200+) and 36 TD passes to only 6 interceptions. If you didn’t see the constant slandering and discrediting of Purdy by the media, then I don’t know what to tell you. The narrative from the national media throughout this season was “any QB can do what Purdy is doing in Niners uniform “.
I'm pretty sure Lamar Jackson has had a very healthy amount of "haters" in his career, how many times have we heard that he's just a running back that throw the ball sometimes? That just comes along with the territory.

I don't disagree that his 2019 season was better than his 2023 season, but if we're just doing stats then Brock had the highest QBR this year, but he didn't throw the most touchdowns, or for the most yards, or the fewest interceptions, so then how could he be the MVP?
I think the only stats that you can really look at to get an idea would be QBR and Rating.. the rest are a little iffy to be base the MVP off of.

I don't think these voters really get down into the NextGen Stats part of it where Brock was doing things that are unheard of.

Brocks passer rating was 130.3 his completion % is 62.7 and his YPA was 14.9 when he threw balls OVER 10 yards.

When you avg over 9 yards per attempt per season and throw over 400 attempts--
Matt Ryan, Rodgers, Manning, and Marino. All won MVP. Brock is OVER 10!

I am OK Josh Allen or Dak Prescott winning the MVP. They at least have the numbers to justify.

Did Brock run over your wife and steal your dog? JFC, did you watch the game. Under constant pressure and receivers were blanketed when he had time.
Where was I overly critical of him? JFC y'all think I'd you're not fan boying over his existence then it's a crime against humanity.

Yes, that will be the narrative if Purdy plays for the Vikings
Did you even watch any of the build up to, pregame for, or the actual Super Bowl where dozens of people talked about how great of a season Brock had? Or do you only follow tweets from Cam Newton?

Did you watch how the national media was talking about how bad Purdy was in the playoffs even though he led the team to 2 come from behind win? Purdy doubters overwhelmingly outnumbered supporters. The narrative was Purdy made things more difficult by not playing well in the playoffs despite having “incredible” talent around him.

Brock definitely had plenty of doubters this year, and anyone still trying to push the narrative that he is somehow a fraud, is being willfully obtuse, but at the same time, the little man syndrome that a segment of his supporters continue to display is not doing anyone any favors.

I don't assume I or anyone is going to change your outlook that the world is against Brock, but I don't think it does you or anyone any good to just constantly focus on the people that are doubting him rather than the people that are praising him.

Very few QBs or players are lucky enough to not have any detractors, there are people out there that just are not believers of various players, whether that's because it increases their bank account with views or because they just feel that way legitimately.
