*** Official #10 IOWA STATE vs Cincinnati Game(Day) Thread ***

Normally don’t search or want to play into the “they don’t respect us” narratives. But was honestly surprised by this field of 68 Big 12 review.

If Goodman would’ve been present feel it would’ve gone differently.

Don’t look now but 3 of the next 4 and 4 of the last seven are at home. Does anyone think we drop one at Hilton? I sure don’t and I’ll be there for them all.
I think the biggest chance of a home loss is BYU. They seemed to be the team out of everyone that was the least bothered by our defense. Heck, they made us choose our poison. They made us pay for whatever we tried defensively.

We had a rather bad offensive showing tonight but still pulled off a road win. This team will force so many turnovers that the offense can have an off shooting night and still win. Shooting 5-18 from behind the arc we still secured a 9 point win. Make 2 or 3 more of them and this game would've been a blowout. This is cool winning games by being so pesky defensively.

Hilton is a really special place.
I grew up in Ames going to games, didn't realize how unique Hilton is since I didn't know any better or have any frame of reference. Sort of like winters in Ames, it didn't seem "bad" to me, it was just what it was. Then I moved to Amherst, MA at age 26 and went to some UMass games (also a "basketball school") and was like, this is it?

I like Cincinnati coach Miller's perspective:
“In the last three days we lost to the fifth-ranked team in the country and the tenth-ranked team in the country,” Miller said. “If you get your butt kicked, embrace it and learn from it. I hate losing. But there’s an opportunity to learn from everything.”
Dude didn't even get to play Huggins at West Virginia.

I would have liked to have seen the Cyclones pull away last night, but in all honesty I think that's more of a praise to Cincy's team than a criticism of ISU.

There were quite a few misses at the rim/fast break execution that could’ve pushed the lead to 20+

Cincy did hit timely shots when ISU got up 16 though. And it seemed less like ISU let up than it has in previous games.
