Here is the Bears big free agent signing thus far - Frank Omiyale

Meanwhile Kyle Orton is their QB and these are the WRs currently on the roster. Yippee. Their rumored move to help there is Bryant Johnson. Oh boy.

  • Earl Bennett
  • John Broussard
  • Rudy Burgess
  • Rashied Davis
  • Brandon Rideau
  • Devin Aromashodu

Oops. Ya forgot about him. He's still listed on the roster as a PR/KR so I missed him. Even so, their receivers are still lame.
ya i know i was really surprised by how he did absolutely nothing as a kr/pr this year, i was dissapointed.

You could take the best parts of three bears qb and still not have an NFL qb.

It's not like there aren't some great receivers in the draft this year.:jimlad: Seriously, let the posers blow their wads on over priced vets and clean up in the draft and add depth in FA on the no names this year.

I hate Hate HATE drafting receivers, especially in the first round. In my mind, you're going to pay a 1st round WR a ton of money anyway, you might as well spend a little more and get a guy you know is going to produce other than someone you think will produce (i.e. Craig Davis, Desmond Howard, David Terrell, Koren Robinson, Charles Rodgers, Mike Williams, etc)

This is what the bears do every year in free agency, should be to no suprise they are not throwing money around.

Supposedly, the Bears are serious contenders for Darren Sharper. We need another safety and I guess he could be a decent 2 year stop gap.

I'm not asking for the big $$ players, but more than a backup O-linemen would be nice. They are very weak at WR and Safety, so Sharper would plug a hole I guess. I would have really liked to keep Mike Brown, but I have to agree with the Bears on this one. Re-signing an aging, injury prone safety doesn't make much sense.

Maybe one year, but not two. Age has already had an impact on his game.

I think the Bears have made one of the best moves in the league this offseason. They let Rex Grossman go.

Yes, they are in the market for a backup QB too. Heard rumors about Garcia or Simms. Either could probably compete for the starting job too, although Simms is one bad shot away from ending his career or worse.
