49ers - Brock Purdy - Still and Always #1

I don't know enough about OL assignments to know if that's the RG or RT's fault but I'd lean guard.

Not sure why they thought they needed to triple team the blitzing linebacker.
That left the RT trying to block 3 guys. He should have stayed in though, and at least tried to block Jones. Why would he leave him to block the DE?

Meh, Purdy isn't that great. In the offseason he needs to work on fumbles, returning punts, defending, droped passes, and blocking if he is going to have any chance of winning a Super Bowl.
and penalties and extra points and freak injuries.:D

At this point, it’s Brady, Montana, Mahomes and everyone else.

There’s plenty generational talents, SB winners and HOF that never got there or won.

That said, never guaranteed you can get there so when you do it’s great to win
Not including the last QB to lead his team to 3 consecutive championships?

When people like Romo say he’s an executive manager instead of a game manager, that’s still leaving the stupid manager knock. Why not just say, he’s a good quarterback and not a game manager?. They can’t drop the manager thing that is what is the knock on him.
If Romo says Brock is some type of QB manager, then Romo must have been a water boy.

Consecutive? Troy?
3 in 4 years for Troy, but only 1 MVP in those 3. Mostly pedestrian in the other 2. Emmitt Smith went off in the second one and Larry Brown almost single handedly beat the Steelers in the third.

You would think blocking their all world defensive lineman would've been priority #1 on that play.

Don't forget the selfish piece of sh*t kept calling plays for himself in the 3rd as well.

I took that extremely hard last night and today.

* CMC fumble = minus 3 points at least on a FG.
* Punt hits a guys foot = 7 points gifted to KC. Unbelievable.
* Missed extra point = 1 point.

We left at least 11 points out on the field on dumb fluke stuff. Unreal. In a close, very hard fought Super Bowl. Definitely had chances to win. Crazy Shanahan went away from running in the 3rd and 4th quarter. Keep running CMC and maybe we win. In OT they ran and moved down the field. Finished with a FG. But moved it. The errors I mentioned were deadly.

Honestly didn't think Brock played terrible. Wasn't his best but definitely wasn't his worst game either. He didn't choke. It's not on him IMO. A multitude of other things. Start with the errors I mentioned. Just awful. Giving Mahomes too much time at the end was awful too. I knew that wouldn't work out. Our front 7 was being held and tackled all game long. There are even videos of it. Like literally tackle and bring guys to the ground when they are pass rushing. The NFL is very favorable to the Chiefs and Mahomes on calls. Blatantly so I'd say. Still had a chance to win. The 3 I mentioned were deadly.

Agreed. But to be fair KC had a sure 3 and possible 7 fumbled away as well.

Now you're a Cyclone. Welcome aboard and we're sorry.

So muffed punt takes away Pancheco fumble. That leaves the CMC fumble and XP. That is the difference.

Deebo did not play well. Aiyuk didn’t. Kittle didn’t. CMC was so-so. All those great weapons. None were difference makers. And the Defense never stopped them.

The San Fran defense was stopping KC until Greenlaw's freak Achilles tear

Brock Purdy is a top 40 NFL quarterback, If he can work on those things in the offseason, he might move into the top 30.

Outside the box - but would anybody be surprised to see Purdy take less money or structure his contract for the betterment of the team...? I hear all these pundits talking about max contracts and getting paid but I'm not sure if Brock is cut from that same cloth.

Thoughts?
