I think his meaning was something like, "Will this current lead be enough to get us to the finish line?" Obviously, if you are mentally soft, that can be worse than being Charmin soft like Iowa's defense.

My sons team is what was lodged in my head. They only have 4 wins (maybe 5 if I forgot one) and it’s even some bad BB all around. He is a JV player that dresses V so we have to stick around and watch the sheetshow of V. His coach brags how he was a manager for the men’s team in college. He is from Illinois, I will let you guess where he went to college.
