Tough day for EIU hoops hopes

The only Minny game I watched part of was earlier in the year at home against Mizzou. Minny blew like a 20 point lead towards the end of the game and the announcers were just raving about how good Mizzou was. It was easy to see just how poorly coached and mentally soft Minny was. Look at Mizzou's record now...easily the worst power 5 team.

What does Iowa have to do to sneak in to the tournament? Win 5 of 7 and get a win in the Big Ten Tournament?

Why is the Big 10 constantly playing games all the time? Practically every night there is a Big 10 MBB game. What a weird schedule.

They also do that weird s*** where they play a smattering of conference games really early in the year. For example Illinois played @ Rutgers on December 2.
I actually think the Ncaa should force all the conferences to play more non-con later in the season. Every little bit helps.

Shon Morris hit the nail on the head when he called out the Minny players for "looking at the clock" during game play. I think his meaning was something like, "Will this current lead be enough to get us to the finish line?" Obviously, if you are mentally soft, that can be worse than being Charmin soft like Iowa's defense.

Beautiful win Iowa! Praise Fran and the tremendous coaching job he did!

Hope you are listening Beth Goetz!!

IMO the big 10 is getting 4-5 teams in.

Get into 4th place. Maybe 5th place gets in, but a 6th place team might get selected instead of them if they have a better resume.
They're only projected to win 2 more games (3 at best case) so 17-14 regular season will require 3 or more B1G tourney wins to sneak into solid bubble. They need 21 wins to get over 50% odds of making the dance. Even 20-15 is only a 45% probability. I guess if their 3 wins were @ Illinois, @ Mich St and @ NW, they might get a boost and sneak in with 20 wins.
