Bradley is also noticeably better than they are. They'd be fighting UNI and SIU for 4th.

Who cares about DeVries honestly. Why are people afraid of him? Is he a good coach? Absolutely but to anoint him as the savior of Hawkeye hoops is a bit premature.
How can there be that many teams WORSE than Iowa? My god its supposed to be a power conference.

Has anyone ever seen such a fair weather bandwagon fan base? They all of the sudden love women’s basketball, baseball, nobody shows up for men’s basketball. It’s embarrassing
No, the NIT completely screwed up their formula. They decided they needed more crappy P6 teams that don’t want to be there than the mid major teams that barely missed the tourney.
NIT Board announces changes to NIT and use of experimental rules
The NIT has announced a number of changes to the tournament format, including the selection process, court regulations and timeout policy.
Looking at the EIU schedule and teams they have remaining; I cannot see more than two maybe three wins. Home vs Minn., Home vs. Penn State and then beat either beat Maryland on the road or Wisconsin at home. No way they win the two games vs Illinois, NW or MSU on the road.
That would be one hell of an instruction video.

In his postgame presser, in answering a question about what went wrong, Fran said "we have to play better defense." I'd give a hundred dollars to hear one of the EIU press patsies (Leistikow, etc.) follow up with "Do you, the head coach, even have a clue how to make that happen?"
This. Please be just good enough that Fran gets to keep his job.
Lickliter was a good coach before he came to EIU...
And it's very hard to win with 18 turnovers and 19 fouls.

I think he will cut a deal with their AD to resign after this season and get a nice payout without the firing. Seems like him and Marge are both tired of IC and will gladly get out of basketball for a few years to watch their youngest play (Notre Dame?). He does seem checked out. Same with Pat.
Not savior but I would say almost perfect fit (Fran has never been a fit there). Also he’ll recruit some guys who can at least guard their own lunch.
