Holy **** that’s a big win

TU fan not happy with Tyrese
Haha, this is very typical Shorthorns/H***eye-style delusion. "My dad and my brothers and I all agree that Texas is just too big a stage for this kid." Yes that's definitely the issue, couldn't be that your team just isn't that good because your leading scorer is a 6'0" chucker from Oral Roberts and you have the worst coach in the Big 12 who turned the former Freshman of the Year into a non-factor who hasn't developed a bit in two years. Definitely unrelated. Wow.

You have now permanently taken away my ability to put my wife to sleep so I can watch or listen to Cyclone games in bed. Thanks.

Well. We beat a 15-8 team, all be it on the road... op was acting like we just won in Phog Allen. I know Our record at Texa$ has been terrible, I just thought people were getting too excited for 1st week of Feb after beating a team that will be lucky to make the tournament.

Tell me you don't understand the value of a road win without telling me you don't understand the value of a road win.

7-2 is great, but not a one seed. There are 2 guaranteed 1 seeds (Purdue, UConn) and a likely third in UNC. That leaves 1. 7-2 would leave us with 7 losses. That would be the 2nd most of any 1 seed in history (2017 Duke had 8, and Illinois, MSU, and Virginia had 7. Those are all blue bloods who get name recognition. I think a 2 seed would be attainable with that. However, I'm guessing we lose 3-4 on road, with a win at either Cinnci or UCF.
If UNC was going to get a 1 seed, then losing at home to Clemson last night certainly didn’t help things

In looking at our schedule early in the season, I was thinking we could be pretty good and still realistically start out 1-8 or 2-7 in the Big 12. 6-3 at this point and only being soundly outplayed in one of those three losses is amazing at this point.

We could also still finish 8-10 or so :puke:. It's a tough league!
Yeah, with this schedule, 6-3 is outstanding by any measure:

@ OU (11)
Houston (2)
OSU
@ BYU (20)
@ TCU (19)
Kansas State
Kansas (7)
@ Baylor (18)
@ Texas

4-0 at home, 2-3 on the road. You might go through March Madness without any 6 game stretch like the ones here.

Stay focused guys, it's all out there for the taking!

Finishing 8-10 would be a bummer and a repeat from last season with better offense which would be too bad but is still very likely a tourney bid at least.

I think they get 3-4 more wins at least.

Yeah, hold serve at home and we're 11-7. This team has displayed the ability to win in many ways, so my expectations are that they'll end up somewhere around that.

I don’t begrudge Hunter taking the money. He has zero chance of playing in the NBA and maybe not much of a career in Europe. This might be the most money he’ll ever make playing basketball. And the Clones have a far better player in Lipsey.

I didn’t know Lipsey would be this good but even at the time he transferred I was one of the few people on this board saying this was probably his one chance to cash in. He made the right choice and we ended up better anyway.

Yes. Again we need to learn to put teams away but this league is sick. Winning this game is just massive!

This is a legit deep run type team.
We've already got two road wins. Between UCF, Cincy, and K-State, taking two of those (assuming we continue to cover at home, also assuming @Houston is a loss because it's Houston) would make us 13-5 in conference and 24-7. 13-5 would likely get us no worse than 2nd place in the conference.

We've already got two road wins, Okie State should be a gimme on the road. We don't play Okie State again

I feel bad for Tyrese. He took advice from someone instead of sticking with Iowa State. Now he is stuck playing for Terry down in Texas and has not improved one bit. The guy who came in and replaced him had a similar first season at Iowa State and has improved to being the the top point guard in the league in his second year.

He’s not stuck. He still has a year left and would do well from himself by transferring. He will have many suiters. Get under a good coach and he can easily rehabilitate his image before leaving college.

Start making some free throws and having the bigs practice making the easy layups, and this team can absolutely make some noise in March.

No practice needed. It's simply called dunk the ******* ball.

There are a of things the players can't control. But there probably isn't one thing they can do that IS more controllable than choosing to dunk the ball versus blowing a layup. Very few circumstances where dunking isn't the better play and we saw why last night.

Normally the notion would sound absurd but it needs to be conditioned in practice. Put up an unnecessary layup in a game? Gonna run in practice.

Oddly enough ai thought BRE had turned a corner as he was dunking the ball with consistency for a while. Lately he's reverted some. Last night the results were not good.

I’ll be honest it isn’t just our problem to blow leads. We jumped on them early giving them time to adjust throughout the game. They couldn’t hit a shot.

It’s almost better to make a big run midway through the second half and push to 15+ then. Teams rarely come back from that
