I'm an unusual sort in that I like to head things off at the pass. If I ever do something wrong at work (even questionable) I walk right in to my GM's office and tell him first hand. In that spirit I thought a Hawk fan should be the 1st to let you fellas know, before it got way out of control. I realize it is kinda of stealing your thunder and glee , dang it............

But here is Ferentz statement...............

"""""""""""“I was extremely disappointed to learn of the incident involving Shaun Prater. He has been suspended indefinitely. He will be required to serve numerous internal obligations, set by me. He’ll also face a multiple game suspension in the fall.”""""""""""""""""

......................multiple game suspension should quell the masses and it will also serve as a no-nonsense wake up call coming into the spring for anyone who isn’t already paying attention.

Carry on.............

Upon arrest, Prater told police that his bartender "must have put alcohol in his Coca-Cola."

:biglaugh:

That sneaky bartender must've put alcohol in the dozen Cokes he had that night. :jimlad:

You just can't make this stuff up. It just keeps coming :biglaugh:

When will someone step in and say this can't happen? I guess as long as you win a bowl game you can pretty much just do anything huh?

At least Ferentz did something, and quickly. It's still gotten very old, but at least there was some sort of disciplinary potential.

He did and going back to Reif and his son he has hammered down. All the same the time is coming where any infraction; no matter how insignificant will be immediate termination of their scholly. It will be unfortunate for the guy who does little but all the same you can't blame the coaches.

There had better be legal prosecution of this one as well, suspending a guy for a few games is not a better punishment then the weekend in jail and fines recieved. All the same, good job to KF for adding to the punishment if he isnt getting out of the legal side of things.

Honestly, 90% of the problems in IC stem from them letting minors into the bars. They promote themselves as the big party school and the entire town goes along with it.

I do wonder about the "multiple games" comment. Are they really going to play ISU without a starting corner? Just about the only game where they really need their CBs all year.

Aren't they 2 different things, and 2 separate entities?

This is true, and has become a large problem since the University made all the frats and sororities go dry.

If you're going off guys that got into trouble last year, the earliest Prater will end up playing is the conference opener.

Didn't kf time a suspension of a CB to either miss the game before and after the ISU game, or wait to suspend one until after the ISU game for a Summer infraction a couple years back? I seem to remember something like that.

Their usual OWI offenses have lasted 1-2 games. Surprisingly, it has been 2 when the ISU game is the 3rd game. This year, it's the second game, so it is surprising that a player gets "muliple" games for that offense.
