*** Official #14 IOWA STATE vs Texas (SAMSUBA) Game(Day) Thread ***

True. When did Disu become the stepchild of Steph Curry and Hakeem Olajuwon? Tonight, of course.

And we still won!

Disu got hot but that was compounded with Otz sticking with BRE over Ward. With BRE missing bunny after bunny he had little value on the floor once Disu got hot. Ward is a much better defender, especially a flash defender, and should have been on the floor more given the situation. Only 13 minutes with 3 O boards (5 total), 2 blocks, a steal, and ZERO TOs. Makes zero sense.

Otz needs to runs some laps after all his coaching blunders. Players can shoot FT's while he's at it.

You are so tiring.

You are so tiring.

I bandwagonned onto the Nuggets when they drafted Monte and kept watching after they traded him. They had the best player in the world and were best team in the world…I probably still wouldn’t have enjoyed a single game if I had ZRF’s outlook. They’d be spraying champagne and I’d be talking about mistakes.

He shouldn't have played. His defense alone yielded 10 points in the 2nd half. Teas was running circles around him and it ****** up our entire D.

He plays his ass off but he's severely out of his league in Big 12 ball. Four of those points were lucky fadeaways he hits 2 out of 10 times. Lets not get carried away.
Not sure what Pavs +/- was, but probably everybody’s sucked in the second half.

TJ was playing small, King had foul trouble and Keshon had some foul trouble.

It isn’t like there are line changes. TJ is trying to steal some minutes and spot minute guys like Pavs and Watson are going against Abmas and other starters at times. Sometimes you need minutes from guys that sometimes are DNPs. And you might not quite hold serve. But they needed those minutes due to the foul trouble. If Keshon can’t go full tilt because of foul trouble, then we are in bad shape. So he sat more with the early two fouls.

Cujo was already playing big mins. So to keep going small and with Tres foul trouble, Pavs had to give some minutes, and he hit some shots, got some boards, and gave up some buckets. Pavs and Watson’s job is to be ready to give some minutes if the game, fouls or injury dictate. Part of that job is to optimize King and Gilbert.

Rulzzz prediction awards

First a couple of general comments I liked

Road Dawgs showed up in a big way

Let's go Cyclones! Road Dawgs!

I want Hassan Ward to block a Tyrese shot

I have a bad feeling about this one, good thing I’m never correct!

I usually don't like to put something of mine in here but said it was a must win and we played like it

If we want to be players regarding a possible conf. title this is a must win.

Lot of score predictions that were in the neighborhood but one stood above the rest.

4 off winning margin
Feeling weirdly good about this one, especially coming off that Baylor game.

'Clones 77 - 68

(my initial gut had UT scoring 69, but they aren't nice)

2 off winning margin
ISU 71 horns 68

2 off winning margin
Is that their school colors or a cheap spray on tan?

Good riddance Texa$$. ISU wins this one 77-74.

1 off winning margin
76-70 ISU

1 off winning margin

right margin in the right score area
Clones 73 shorthorns 68

The WINNER my fellow CBA Tag Team partner @riceville98 with a PERFECT 10 prediction of margin and score.

This is a huge game and I'll be one of the few that can watch with sportspak on Direct TV. Love the horns down theme going on in this thread.

Let's show them they do not belong here anymore

Cyclones 70 Horns down 65

I feel like ZRF is working his way towards the ultimate basketball strategy... playing your best players all 40 minutes! Why does anyone else need to play?

CW and Gray were raving about Pav on post game pod. He had 3 rebounds and only missed on shot, great minutes.

He manufactured some baskets and made Texas defense really work. By having this top 10 defense three years in a row some fans live in a fantasy where every player has to be elite on defense, lots of championship teams have specialists or flawed players.

But they did not sweep. Had to win in 5 games. Not good enough. :)
Edit: I didn't really thing Miami was any good either. How am I doing?
