*** WBB at UCF (Sat., 11:00 CT) ***

Ladies playing their best Hoiball defense down in Orlando today.

Freshman are hitting their wall it seems, legs at this point in the season just look gassed.
Yeah this was my worry when you rely on so many young players.

Their bigs played good defense on her. Made everyone else try to beat them
and she's our only post player....because Isnelle is pretty much useless......she can't ever get position on a defender and when she does, she either travels right away or chucks the ball at the hoop

I know our teams under Fenn have been live by the three die by the three, but doesn't HE ever get frustrated when we know the threes aren't falling? Like this offense is so hard to watch because there's no movement, just stagnant, lazy offense

Disappointing! Maybe we should have started coaching well before the last 2-3 minutes of the game.
Time to go get some athletic kids to add to the solid freshman class.
Now that was one of the more stupid comments… You don’t think they’re coaching?

Conference road games are always difficult, especially for a young team. Ironically, it’s not really our youngsters who are faltering - I’m not seeing the “freshman wall” several have referenced. We grind to a halt when the ball gets sticky and that’s on Emily Ryan - the extended backdown at the end of the first half with backdoor steal for a layup was inexcusable for a player of her caliber. Our veteran leadership (and coaching) was lacking in the second half. Lastly, tip of the cap to Central Florida - they stepped up and made shots / plays when it mattered!

I liked their coach. She's sort of got this calm stoic demeaner and doesn't rant or act very animated on the sidelines. However, she's got "the stare" down pat. I don't mean in that as she's got an angry stare, just a "I see you, I saw that, I see everything look". She definitely comes off as someone with "presence".

ISU is 225th in defense, 49th in offense. Even more telling, we are 347th in turnovers forced per game and 340th in turnover margin. I am a little surprised the 3pt defense is as high as it is (185th), as we seem to be WAY slow in closing out on shooters. There are 360 D1 WBB teams.

edit add: Our FTs are way down this year. 230th in FTs attempted, 210th in FTs made. and we are generally a good rebounding team, just not today.
