Random Thoughts 18: The Year of Fire

Do airports weigh check in bags? We have only done carry ons for the last 10 years or so. Pack them tight and use a pack back that is probably larger than you are supposed to have and you are fine for a week.

I don't think they weigh carry-ons. They do frequently check carry-ons at the gate though.

I know that I overpack. I spill a lot. Still, my wife's bag always weighs about twice as much as mine.

Carry on and back pack for each person? So you are the one I have to stand in line and wait for getting on the plane so you can fit a square peg in a round hole on overhead storage. LOL!!

I do travel quite a bit and take all my show materials and clothes in a single bag.

Like today, they had to check everyone’s large carryons as the overhead bins were too small. The line to get your carryon after you got off the plane was long!! They should have let everyone without a checked carryon off first.

I usually don't like to carry on because I usually have a laptop and I hate carrying all that around. The last few times I have flown though was to the UK so I get a checked bag with the ticket and the only domestic flying I have done in years was over a weekend so I didn't bring a laptop.

Do these companies that send you multiple emails every single day think that is going to drum up extra business? I get so much junk email on a daily basis it makes me refuse to even look at what they have to offer.

Last month I did a double red, which was 18 months after my last radiation treatment.

You know it’s going to be a good day when you guess the weight of your checked luggage and that you don’t have to take anything out. Spot on at 50 lbs!!

My wife always has me weigh her bag when she's nearly done packing. "Can you weigh this? I'm almost done?" I always say, "You're fine. You have a couple more pounds you can add." Then she'll finish packing and have me weigh it again and it's always about 10 pounds over the limit.

Several years ago we picked up a small scale for weighing bags. You loop the strap around the suitcase handle and lift the bag with it. Weighs in pounds and kilos. It's lightweight and packs easily. We buy things when traveling and it's a way to distribute extra weight on the way back home.

My mom told me that she had someone tailgate her on the interstate for 10 miles today when there were no other cars around and then the person flipped her off. The interstate, you know the road with a lane made for passing.

Had a semi that took a 5 mile pass ahead of me last wk then honked his horn when I passed him I know they are governed but give me a break dude.
