NFL: Kansas City Chiefs Thread

With the way the Niners were coached and played today I like the way this looks for the Chiefs.

I'm not sure why Shanahan was so stubborn, but he constantly run MCM with little success on 1st, which put Purdy in obvious passing downs on 2nd and 3rd. The Lions ran press coverage tbe entire game and some combination of pressure, predictable downs, and Purdy himself made Brock look very uncomfortable in the pocket. He was constantly shuffling his feet, even when he didn't need to, which seemed to alter his accuracy. Early in the season I didn't notice this nearly as much.

Detroit controlled the line of scrimmage for most of the game. On offense they ran at will and neutralized the pass rush, while on defense they shut CMC down and made Purdy uncomfortable. If not for player gaffes Detroit would like be the opponent.

The Chiefs have a much better defense than the Lions and a much better QB. If they can control CMC on 1st down Purdy will have a tough time against KCs back 7. Likewise, if the Chiefs can run some and not let the ends go wild, Mahomes will shell the middle of the field. The Niners zone was Charmin soft up the middle and they did little in the way of adjusting.

Maybe the Niners find a way to regain their form but they looked off. Right now Chiefs fans should feel good about the matchup.

Probably a good breakdown, but it is simple for the Chiefs.

Turnovers, dropped passes, and penalties defined the regular season. Play a clean game and Chiefs are the best team in the NFL.

Eh, I expect that changes once all of thr excited and overzealous Niner fans stop with the excitement bets for their team.

Would be kind of shocked if the Chiefs aren't favored by game time.
I still think though a lot of people are skewed by the Chiefs dropping games in the regular season and them not playing great.

The Niners were outplayed
and outcoached, only winning (at home) off several individual Lion miscues and plays of fortune.

In the POs the Chiefs have been the better team and their players/staff know how to prepare and handle this moment.

We'll see. Ultimately it's about where rhe betting action lies.

I am just talking about people's perceptions for betting purposes.
