What makes you think that? Honest question. Also, would you have said that no matter who you hired?
I was hoping for Johns because it seems he runs a more modern system. Lester as an OC hasn’t been good at all. When he was at Syracuse they ranked over 100. Very puzzling hire IMO. So dumb it might actually work? At least that is what I’m hoping for.
Kirk just needs a warm body. A “Yes” man to fill the post.

Kirk wanted an FU to the new AD. How do you do that? Hire a guy who is about the same as BF was and give him less leash to work with.

The hire is underwhelming IMO. Better than Budmyar and the status quo on paper but less inspiring than virtually every other name that was tossed around.
Chad’s really going to have spend some time on his knees to make up for that one.
