I love the win today for Iowa. Just enough to keep them barely relevant, and just enough to help Goetz feel rest assured that the wheels aren't close to falling off.

Watching Hunter Dickinson for KU today was kind of eye opening in a sense. The dude comes from years of playing in the Big 10, and while yes statistically he popped a bit, I rarely felt as though he was doing anything. Like, he was probably the 3rd or 4th highest J- Hawk I was worried about us defending. He was lost defensively all day. The big 10 is all pomp and circumstance. The schools have mastered the art of finding and coaching players that love to shoot and score but don't care about any other aspects of the game. When you play against crappy competition, you look better.

Freeman is a solid player for a freshman. He doesn't do much on defense but no one does on that team, I think it's the system not the talent. I'd take him on ISU in a heartbeat.

Perkins is a mid combo-version of Gilbert and Jones, wouldn't get many minutes in our current backcourt. Sandfort is a bum.
I see him as more of a Dennis Rodman-esque type player. Even when the dude is not scoring, he gets EVERY rebound he touches. We often seem to have good position, yet somehow the ball bounces off our hands either out of bounds or ends up in our opponents hands.Dickenson is a great player when the refs allow him to maul folks. He didn't have a foul until late in the second half. He is the master of the moving screen.
I get the impression Freeman is a lifer hok fan and probably subscribes to the universal hok truths:Wonder if someone will get in Freeman’s ear that he’d be better off transferring to develop that defense. He could certainly get to be a high scorer if Fran focuses all offense around him like they did with Murray and Garza. And maybe he’s fine with being a stat stuffer. That would certainly get him into the NBA. But if he wants to be a legit 2 way NCAA player, he isn’t going to do that under Fran.
He's going to be a good college player who at least right now I would say his game doesn't translate to the next level. He'd be too much of a tweener to play the 4 or 5 in the NBA and unless he develops at least a little bit of a 3 point shot probably wouldn't get a look. I think his ceiling is similar to what they had with last years version of Rebraca. Just a good college player, a Fran McCaffery specialWonder if someone will get in Freeman’s ear that he’d be better off transferring to develop that defense. I don't think Perkins would play at Iowa State at all. And it doesn't even have that much to do with his skills. I don't think mentally he would be able to play TJs system and TJ would never play a guy who barks and whines at refs so much. Dude is too soft, but thinks he's tough. For a Fran coached player he's not bad in that regard.Freeman is a solid player for a freshman. He doesn't do much on defense but no one does on that team, I think it's the system not the talent. I think you're being pretty fair with Freeman but I think his ceiling as a Rebracca is an understatement. He's already close to beibg Rebraccas equal imo and he's 6 years younger. He's much more physically gifted than rebracca. He's not as refined yet but that'll come with time. His ceiling is 1st team all big ten imo. He could be really good. He's going to be a good college player who at least right now I would say his game doesn't translate to the next level. Have you seen Michigan's record?IGood win yesterday that was as high level game as I've seen all year. Felt like an NCAA tournament game with a much better atmosphere
I meant Iowa StateHave you seen Michigan's record?
100% he will have people in his ear. Damn near everybody with eligibility and a pulse have people in their ear. He’s pretty damn good. His little buddy is there so I bet he’s probably content.Wonder if someone will get in Freeman’s ear that he’d be better off transferring to develop that defense. Using “Sukeyes” makes you sound like an idiot. Just helping out.Thinks he’s a player…. What a joke playing for the Sukeyes, doesn’t even know he’s irrelevant…
