Curtis Jones

He struggled on both ends in the first half. He settled down in the second half and hit some big shots. In the non-conference, he struggled mightily until he adjusted towards the end. He struggled again to start conference play and has now adjusted.

I wouldn’t say he “struggled mightily”. He just didn’t really do anything noteworthy or outstanding.

The only thing he struggled at was making shots. He's been very good at handling the ball and defense all season.

Ya I was never at the point where I didn’t think there was a good chance he would get it going. Showed a good attitude, working on d, playing within the offense. Just needed a couple to go through.

Lipsey being out vs. TCU was the best thing that ever happened to us. Gilbert and Jones were not good the first few Big 12 games. They seemed content to just defer to Lipsey and relied on him to create almost everything offensively. Then they were forced to be more aggressive against TCU and found their confidence. They've both been completely different players since that game.

I was down on him for the first couple months buts really starting to shine in conference play. Maybe he just needed to adjust to this level.

He has to be in the running for Big 12 6th man of the year?

I wasn't expecting him to be so capable at executing the offense with Tamin out, that's a welcome surprise.

We've got a good backcourt!

Yeah, they really found some confidence from that (as they should) and now look comfortable taking big shots. 3 great guards can take you a long way

I’ve been high on Curtis all season because of the good things he has done all year: defense and not turning the ball over. I do think he was really hesitant to shoot the first 4 non-con games and Lipsey being out made him say “I have to shoot it, now”. Good things happen when he and Gilbert don’t hesitate to shoot the 3. Even if they miss, good things still happen, as we get an offensive rebound on about 1 out of 3 misses and it keeps the D from packing it in.

McMillian from Tech is really good, hasn't started yet.
