It's a week out, but right now the weather forecast in Santa Clara looks perfect for Sunday. Definitely feel much better about the possibility for a comfortable win in ideal conditions with a game under their belt now. I know everyone is freaked out over Deebo because of that 3 game stretch, but Trents injury was the biggest issue there IMO, and don't forget that CMC was really banged up in that stretch as well. Shanahan knows there is a good chance Deebo won't be there and can gameplan around that. Last week's game had a lot of intagibles going in that screamed upset. This week not so much IMO.
I wouldn't be surprised to see the Niners win by 14+.
Lions defense has given up over 800 yards the last 2 playoff games. Their opponents have gained more yards than them and have also averaged more yards per play than them.
It's ok to say that Purdy had a bad game and not need a comparison point to the other QB whose performance is not at all controlled by Purdy.
I will be cheering for the Lions only because of their lifelong misery as a franchise.... but if the 49ers do win... I hope that Purdy just goes off and has an amazing day just to shut up all the national media.

Thought this was one of the better discussions I've seen overall of the matchup next week and Brock's play in last week's game.
How could he think he was worse than Love for god's sake?

Plus, Love sat behind Aaron Rodgers for 3 years learning the ropes. The media acts like a magic stork dropped him off in Green Bay 6 weeks ago and now he’s playing great as the second coming.
Yes, it would be okay, provided Purdy really had a bad game like all the haters are saying. But that wasn't the case.
In horrible weather conditions and running for his life behind a below average Oline, Purdy completed 23 of his 39 passing attempts, 1 touchdown, 0 interceptions, and a game winning touchdown drive with 67 seconds left.
He outplayed the opposing young superstar QB that all the haters are raving about. If his name were Brady, everyone would be saying it was just another day at the office for the superstar.
I don't think anyone is saying that he had a great game. By his standards (which, have been MVP level this season), it was not a great game.
But the chatter on twitter during the game was ridiculous. I think the main problem is that people seem to think that he doesn't have a bunch of games in at this point. So they act like one game that isn't so good means that he'll suddenly suck forever. But, at this point, he deserves the benefit of the doubt.
All the HOT TAKES and on Twitter people are talking about it like we LOST. Rather than a game winning drive and a WIN. His overall stats aren't that bad. He made the game winning drive. Come from behind, without Deebo, in the rain and win. That's what they have been asking him to do. Still not good enough. You would think it's a loss instead of a win if you pay attention to the shows and internet.
Brock just can't win no matter what he does. Even winning and advancing in the playoffs. Still a loss.

The SF OLine is the team's glaring weakness, so, yeah, the GB defense does have a lot to do with it when compared to the 49ers' troubles. Purdy is one of the elite NFL quarterbacks when dealing with pressure, stats-wise.
Was it last season when Miami established an NFL record for pressure/blitzing percentage? I believe the Giants tried the same tactic. BP shredded them. And yet, some believe Purdy's journey has been a cakewalk.
If I'm wrong about this, I'm pretty sure SanDiego49er will make corrections.
Add another one - Kole Musgrove - to those whose stomach turns at the thought the 49ers with Purdy might achieve something, and bashing Richard Sherman at the same time.
Coming back from seven points just isn’t a big enough comeback. Let’s see if he can do a 21 point fourth-quarter comeback with one hand tied behind his back and no Deebo and Aiyuk, with practice squad receivers. And why should Brock get a Hall of Fame left tackle to make his job easier? Trent Williams has to sit before the comeback even starts. But that’s not entirely fair either because why should Brock get such an amazing head coach to help him? So Brock has to take the speaker out of his helmet so Shanahan can’t communicate with him. I like the take that "Mr. Irrelevant" third string QB Brock Purdy was "born on third base and thinks he hit a triple". Wish I wouldn't have given the article my 'click'
Is QBR a good measure of a QB's performance (I do not know how the details, the nuances, of how the ratings are compiled)?
Purdy's QBR was 14 points higher than Love's. Does this not say something important?
Note: Saw this on tv screen shortly after game ended. Maybe the QBR has been re-calculated and now matches your figures, cyclonespiker33?

There's traditional quarterback rating and ESPN's Total QBR. Traditional rating is simply a math formula that gets better the more completions, yards, TDs they have in fewer attempts and caps at 158.3. Total QBR is ESPN's advanced analytic metric that tries to take into account everything that happens on the plays, not just the raw stats.
