Top Gun 2: Maverick

I just scoured IMDB and noticed these sequels are all coming out this year:

Kung Fu Panda 4
Twisters
Inside Out 2
Despicable Me 4
Deadpool 3
Beetlejuice 2
Joker: Folie A Deux
Gladiator 2
Incredibles 3
(Untitled) Karate Kid movie

I was listening to a Hollywood industry podcast and they said that only .... 3 ... movies were coming out in 2024 that were not connected to some IP / Franchise.

Beetlejuice2 and Gladiator2…?

Now I’ll have to look up the pending casts and story lines.

Anyone that is smart and has a sense of humor, understands exactly what Tropic Thunder was going for and they nailed it. RDJ was freakin great in that movie.
Kevin Smith’s Dogma is another one. People attacked it for being sacrilegious and blasphemous, without actually watching it, of course - while it’s anti-religion as many Christians choose to practice it, the movie celebrates faith and is deeply honest in Smith’s appreciation of God/religion as he thinks it should be.

I honestly didn't realize that the Les Grossman character was Tom Cruise until the end credits. He was great in that movie. It gets better every time I watch it.

Some funny stories about Tom Cruise in Tropic Thunder from Bill Hader and Tom Cruise.

Supposedly a remake of Roadhouse is in the works too. Can't imagine it is going to do justice to the original move that was so good. It's sad that we're at the point Hollywood is struggling to put out good new/original movies so as a result we are getting remakes or spinoffs of other successful movies instead. Top Gun Maverick may be the 1 exception to a well done sequel in recent years.

I can't even count the number of movies I've seen in the movie theater on 1 hand within the last 5 maybe even 10 years. There just have not been many that have come out that I was excited to see, Top Gun Maverick is the last one I saw in a theater and I can't even remember the last movie I saw in the theater pre-pandemic sadly enough. There used to be a time where it feel like there were at least 2 or 3 must see movies a year that everyone was talking about how you had to get out and see it when it came out.

They were originally going to do the remake with Ronda Rousey, then she got knocked out and lost some popularity.
