Getting tired of watching our games on espn+. Figured it'd change once conference started. Guess not.
I hear ya Bob. I think it's safe to say it's a permanent thing and only going to increase.

FWIW, overall I think ESPN+ has been shared pretty equally across the conference this year (without crunching the numbers). I also enjoy getting to watch Sienna at Niagara at 11:00 AM, at work, on a Monday... as I may or may not have a responsibile amount of money riding on such an event.

ESPN+ blows. I have to stream it from the iPad and it always stops and cuts out followed by a commercial break that lasts far too long and doesn't go back to the game in time. Wish we could get back on the cable channels.
iPad? Most smart TVs are able to access the ESPN app.

Now I will say its format is terribly clunky to navigate with a remote, but once you are there the feed works really well for me, and I have pretty slow internet by today's standards. I also have a pretty basic 5 year old Vizio

Yeah its not good. Seems like there is a lot more women's games on regular channels also.

I experience the same issue with ESPN+. Right before a commercial break, I stop casting to my TV to prevent the stream from freezing up. It works around 75% of the time.

My ESPN+ beef is the browser (Safari) will randomly reload the page (stopping the stream) with the message "This page was reloaded because it is using a lot of energy" or something similar.

Idk anything about safari, but that sounds like a setting that could be changed.

Wonder if TJ will shift from the short corner/high wing double teams. It does help force turnovers but bad 3pt shooting teams were knocking down their 3s. Don't know if you want to roll the dice with that against this team.
Wondering same. Stick w what you know, or adjust it somehow to defend the 3 better. Idk what BYU has if they do try to go inside. Havent seen them at all. Maybe you go small and just 1 big in the middle.

But if i had to guess, they will stick to the regular defense and try to get more TOs than 3s allowed.

Concerned that if BYU hits like 5 of their first 6 or something, theyd have so much juice and such a big lead, wont be able to overcome on road. Really important to win the first 4 minutes of both halves.

How is BYU’a defense? So far they remind me of a better version of Iowa. I wonder if we can bully them and wear them down the same way

That time Melvin Ejim graciously offered our good hosts a delicious clone cone!

Nah… it was at the Marriott Center. It was a cougar tail (look it up if you don’t know).

On another note, I’ve always thought it strange that ISU as Hilton Colosseum and BYU has the Marriott Center (with the latter being named after the hotel family, and the former not, to my knowledge).

We just watch it through Roku on the TV. Our only problem was when we were watching two different streaming sites when the Chiefs were on Peacock. Watched basketball on TV and Chiefs on phone as that was not much of a game. I suppose we could have put it on a big computer screen if the game got interesting.

You would be correct my cougar friend. It is named for James H. Hilton. He was the University President at a crucial time (the 50s and early 60s I believe). He was instrumental in Iowa State's transition from its roots as more of a land-grant technical college (VEISHA) into a larger more tradional State University with a broader focus including but not limited to liberal arts, though it still maintains its prominent position in the disciplines of its original founding with respect to Agriculture, Engineering, Veterinary Medicine, etc.

Better get used to it. The way things are trending, most live sports will move to that type of programming. Only marquee matchups/names will be on main channels.

It’s a win-win for ESPN (less cost to produce and another source of revenue), and as long as they keep the subscription cost down, it’s really not too bad for the customer.

Anyway…this game will be a challenge for sure. They shoot well, that place is a hornets nest and don’t forget…altitude is a thing there. Not as much as Boulder, but it could be a factor.
