Sure wish he would.

It sure would save me a ton of anxious days. ;). But it is annoying when people claim that if he doesnt' do it, he's gone. He just simply doesn't make comments on that stuff.

While I don’t think the new UW coach is CMC, it seems odd he hasn’t come out and said he doesn’t want it or he’s being extended or something
More odd, IMO, is that Grubb would burn the bridge in case Damon’s first 4 or 5 choices fell through. Must be a significant personality conflict.

Seems like he got told no and the only other option he was considering was Alabama OC

FYI as of right now, nobody on ISU or CMC’s side knows anything at all. The only one on our side that knows anything either way is CMC himself.

Usually there is smoke and then fire. This seems to be a case of no smoke when people want there to be smoke. I see nothing that sees Campbell even being considered or Campbell being interested. Just message board posters wanting to start the smoke

I agree with your first sentence. If you follow any national writers at all, you are definitely wrong on the last sentence.

Campbell is a proven good resurrection coach. Turn things for the better when they are bleak. Huskies about the furthest from that right now.

Keep in mind that part of the national writer’s job is to get people to read your articles. A former writer for the Minneapolis Star Tribune was interviewed on a local sports radio station about a year ago. The topic of changing coaches came up. The writer said when a coach left, his publicist would ask him to write an article with 5 potential candidates. One candidate must be a national brand, and one must be a local person, and then just pick three people who you think would be best fit.

Point being, national writers don't necessarily have direct knowledge of potential new coaching candidates. At this point of the search, it’s much more about hearing from people with direct sources to Washington and/or Campbell to see if there is mutual interest. Everything else is essentially self created “smoke”
