Tough day for EIU hoops hopes

It's a start.

It kills me every time I watch an opponent let Iowa get comfortable on the offensive end. If they’re allowed to run their stuff with little resistance they’re gonna score. Not a good coaching job by Fred tonight. Likely dealing with a hangover and there’s not a lot a college coach can do about that.

Don't doubt that the narrative coming out of this game will be along the lines of 'Young hok team starting to gel. Looking to get off the bubble and improve their seeding in the tourney.'

My takeaway was more about Nebraska finally embracing Hoiball.

Chuck a bunch of threes. Can beat anybody. But can lose to anybody.

Take out a #1 seed like Purdue one night; lose to a trash Iowa team the next.

I think this is the correct analysis.

But it won't be the hok analysis. They beat one of the hottest teams in CBB.

All I have to know about how good a team is - if they can't contain Dix, they have zero defense.

I watched about half the game last night, neither team was even bothering to play any defense, it was just get out and run, EIU hit 15 3 pointers, and Nebraska really struggled shooting the ball, only made 4 behind the arc.
The mayors offense was always fun to watch, but on a night like last night, where they struggle to shoot the ball, the lack of defense killed them.
