**** WBB: ISU vs #4 Baylor Saturday 12 pm ESPN+ GAME THREAD ****

From Baylor message board:

There is a blizzard warning in Ames tomorrow morning. I wonder how that'll affect Hilton turnout
If past history is followed......probably not a lot. I think it only takes a few to be there a couple of hours early and then clone into thousands.

Interesting graphic.

In an illustration of today's college basketball realities, exactly one of those thousand point scorers is home-grown by Baylor, Sarah Andrews. Senior Madison Bartley spent three years at Belmont. Senior Aijha Blackwell spent three years at Missouri. Senior Dree Edwards spent one year at Utah and two years at Kentucky. Junior Yaya Felder starred at Ohio U for two seasons. Without researching it, my guess is that only four or five of Baylor's 14 players started their careers in Waco.

Iowa State is slightly better. We have 3 - thousand point scorers, one home-grown (Emily Ryan) and two transfers, Hannah Belanger from Truman State (4 Years) and Isnelle Natabou from Sacramento State (2 Years). Poor Sac State is 1-13 so far in 2023-2024, as losing Nelle evidently gutted them.

Does anybody know what's become of Geewago? I guess I've come to expect his periodic commentary, especially during game week.

Transfers are a reality but Baylor's situation was also hugely impacted by a coaching change of seismic proportions.

@geewago is probably lurking. A big chunk of our fan base hates everyone from the other teams fan bases so maybe he doesn't post as much now? Which is too bad because he's a WBB fan overall, follows and knows WAY more about the other Big 12 teams than anyone here.

Maybe if there is room the general admission peeps can move down to the bowl level after the 1st quarter or so? The aisle cops seem to like to watch that like hawks but maybe there won't be as many today?

C-Dub on color?

We will have the awesome Molly Parrott. Will be nice to have her paired with someone other than who she has been working with for these games. Hopefully John won't go too overboard trying to show he is also a big WBB fan. Sort of did some of that the last time I heard him do a WBB game. Still, of course, he'll be pretty good.

I believe Nellie’s former Sac State coach is now at TCU. He was a former assistant at Gonzaga, followed coach to Oregon. He was only at Sac State one year. His first HC job.

Anybody make it to Hilton already who can report on the journey?
From west Ames, north of Ontario, streets are OK. However, winds have picked up causing blowing snow in town. Probably considerable blowing outside city limits.

I'm still kicking. I had every intention of coming up to Kansas for the game Wednesday night and then stopping and visiting Acoustimac a little while and coming to the game with him. But the weather forecast looked so bad I decided at the last minute to stay put. based on several videos I've seen on you tube I think I made the right decision. I'll be watching on espn+. Good luck guys. This Baylor team is pretty good but very beatable as KU proved.

Was Walters always supposed to do the TV for this game? Or was it weather related? Either way fun to hear him.

I should have mentioned it Wednesday, but the guy they had doing play by play for the West Virginia game was REALLY good I thought. Iowa State should consider having him do the men's games instead of Larry Morgan.

On first possession as Audi was running down to get into position her defender tried doing the body check thing that posts do sometimes and it didn't affect Audi at all except to make her giggle. That was funny,
