***Official 2024 Weather Thread***

Just curious, when was the last time a conference MBB game was postponed for weather? I really can't remember it happening so assuming it would be incredibly rare.

Lol, how many hotels do you need to accommodate a basketball team of about 20 people? Football teams usually only take up 1-2 floors at hotels let alone a 12 man basketball team.
NFL teams have their own plane for the season (some even own their own plane). NCAA charter planes arrive about an hour before the teams departure (generally speaking). For basketball, sometimes the charter plane they arrive in is not the one that will take them home. Lots of ramifications of leaving a day early, most notably, the likelihood of not having a plane for the team. Hotel coordination is probably the easiest of all the logistics.

I'm really having trouble deciding when to go dig out. If I go now I will certainly have to again. On the other hand, the wind is supposed to blow all day tomorrow too and if I wait till Sunday the wind chill is supposed to be -40.

I'll probably regret it but I'm waiting. Add more clothes and wear the snowmobile helmet. Drifts will be back if I do it today.

They will be, but they may be more manageable the next time. Take the punishment all at once or try to split it.

Same here. Gonna be really tough to sit in my house for the next 4 days. Expecting a jump in the birth rate 9 months from now.

Also, thank you Lord for YouTube TV and Cyclonefanatic.

How much snow on the roof before I need to worry about knocking it down? The wind has blown a nice drift on the front of our garage roof.

Similar thinking for me this morning. I eventually went out around 8am. Thankfully I did, I had a drift that was about 4.5ft tall towards the end of my driveway. Had no idea it was that tall/deep looking at it from inside the house. Unfortunately, I'm going have to back out there this afternoon, hopefully much quicker the next go-around.

we live on a hill with no wind break and open rolling hills of farm fields to the north and west. Our gravel road runs east/west and the road is lower than the field to the north. Waist high snow drifts all the way across the road and a large chunk of our drive way is waist high. Thank God I have an old skid loader.:).

Tree outside our house. Eeek.

Took me about 50 minutes to blow the snow we got last night and this morning, I would say we have another 5/6 inches at least since the first storm, so I guess it's now time to get ready for the wind to blow it all around and me forced to go out again and blow out the sidewalk and driveway again.

Worst part about the whole thing, was watching TV with the wife last night and my keg of beer ran out, I knew it was low, but I figured it would last the weekend. Called over and ordered a new one, but no way I am driving 20 miles on these roads, so I had to get out and make a beer run to the store. Side streets down here are horrible, and many have not been plowed yet.

What kind of beer...might be worth the risk. Running out of beer is not good.
