ZRF, you may not have noticed while you were evidently on sabatical, but Rob has been playing great. Since returning from injury, so has Hasan. This is a luxury! I trust TJ to use them as he feels appropriate.

I don't know. If we can't complain after beating #2, when can we complain?
Rob was pretty good today. Both him and Ward were able to mostly match the physicality of Houston, which was no small task. Rob is definitely not as athletic as Ward but he's looking stronger this year IMO

Houston fans on their message board are not used to losing. They are having a hard time coming to terms that they might drop 4+ games in conference.
That is a really good crowd tonight, in this weather!!! Iowa State and Hilton are special places!
Got to be honest, that game raised my heart rate incredibly. But that was one of the most enjoyable games in recent memory. The Kansas State game in Manhattan last year when GK hit that three comes close.
Obviously Mom’s fadeway beauty was glorious. But collectively was a great team win. Hason Ward. INCREDIBLE play on both sides. Tre King made some key buckets. That 3 pointer he hit came at a time where momentum was slipping. He also came down with colossal rebounds.
Overall, you have to give the game ball to Tre King. Was not fazed under pressure. We are lucky to have his maturity and toughness out there.

Probably true but I also liked some of those fouls better than letting them score. Make them make free throws.
Other guys definitely need to crash boards as Ward trying to block everything. But love his energy and he had key steal near half court too towards the end.
Well boys and girls nights like tonight is why WE ARE CYCLONES! what a great game! The snow hindered attendance but those there were FEISTY!
Shout out to Bob "free throw" Jones he nailed some big ones. Heck the whole team did. Milan "money " Momcilovic draining that shot and free throws in the end.
The 1st 20 miles on the drive down were like WTF luckily it slowly improved and 35S was a good drive, got into Hilton just after the 1st 9 points. It was well worth the drive. Catch you all in Hilton Saturday for a great double header ladies take on Baylor and the men get the always pesky Okie St. Cowboys.
Oh yeah shout out to @Sigmapolis and the alumni band for some great musical entertainment.

This 100 percent. I felt like I was watching Huggins and West Virginia, but without the press. Handcheck all night and dare the refs to call them all. They can't and they won't.

There was short stretch in first half where I thought they should have called one or two on them, but overall they let both Teams play and don't remember much to complain about in 2nd half
They need to realize Danny Manning never won in Hilton during his 4 yrs as a Jayhawk.
Totally agree with King. The guy was tough as nails tonight and you have to be against Houston. That's a really good team we beat tonight.
But King with almost a double/double and making that huge 3, and just all around physical play really stood out.
I'm not really saying that Ward should've just let those guys score. My point is that with Jones's rotations, he might not have let some of those guys get to the rim in the first place. If you're not able to acknowledge that Jones is fantastic at being in the right place to help and prevent guys from even getting all the way to the rim (exactly why Otz loves him so much), then I don't know what to tell you.
Yes, Ward is able to block some of those shots that BRE and King couldn't dream of blocking. But that doesn't matter on a night when completely unable to do that because Houston's guards were too good at getting into the body and forcing a foul. In that kind of situation, the guy who's able to prevent those shots in the first place (Jones) is absolutely worth playing. (I'd also add that Jones is generally more comfortable with the ball in his hands on the perimeter in the motion of the offense than Ward is, which was necessary tonight with how difficult Houston was making every single pass and dribble.)
