Given that Memphis has 4 10-win seasons in the past 10 years, has 10 consecutive bowl appearances, has wins over ranked UCLA, Ole Miss, Miss ST, UCF, Cincy, Houston, and SMU, is putting $750 million into facilities, and has a basketball program with vastly superior history to ISU……,what is the basis for the feigned superiority expressed on this board?

Saturday’s game showed Memphis with dominant line play, superior speed, and skill levels above ISU

We respect all opponents; maybe that’s something many in your fan base should consider?

Vastly superior basketball team? Get out of the Beale Street back alley.

Send us all a bottle of the moonshine you’re working on and then we’ll talk.

This is easy. Did you see the crowd at the bowl game?

It's very clear. Almost no one gives a $hit about Memphis.

^ Iowa fan trying to cope with today’s ass whooping.

The game that had Memphis 36-13 over ISU and then just worked the clock; try YouTube or the ISU website…you might pick up the reports

Are you that interim DC we’ve heard so much about?

A few things:

1. Rightly or wrongly, there’s a sense that as a Power 5 school playing an unranked G5 school, we ought to win. That was reflected in the double digit spread for this game.

2. The lack of success by the Big 12 newcomers from the AAC this year has done a lot to affect people’s perception of that league, fairly or unfairly.

3. It’s difficult to blame ISU fans for expecting to be able to run the ball against a defense ranked 100th in the country. Credit Memphis for manning up, but that was a bad performance by ISU.

4. Playing a bowl game in the opponent’s stadium still irks people, especially when it’s the same matchup from a few years ago.
