How rare is a triple double for us? The article says that Lipsey has had one this season. Who else has had triple doubles for us?

Jamal Tinsley at some point is one. Can't recall when.

I don't think they're very common in the college game in general.

A triple double in 40 minutes is pretty good. Pros have another 8 minutes of game time, which is part of the reason they're not as common in college.

Urquhart
Tinsley
Stinson
White
Morris
Haliburton
Lipsey
Gilbert
I think this is about a 34-35 year history. The first ISU triple double was Marc Urquhart (I'm going to guess late 1988, his senior year or '88-89?).

Anyway, pretty remarkable that the last 2 were this year, just weeks apart.

Edit: Article on Monte's Triple Double, at the time the 5th Cyclone to do it. "Morris joins Royce White (2012); Curtis Stinson (2006); Jamaal Tinsley (2000); and Marc Urqhart (1989) on ISU’s rarely-reached triple-doubles list."

Where does Lipsey and Gilbert rank in terms of guard duos in the conference? I would have to think pretty high.

Now THAT is a list.
I remember when Royce got his (think TT) it was a pretty big deal here and nationally as it almost never happened. The game has changed a bit with more shooting due a shorter shot clock thus bit more common recently but as evidenced all those listed are known names in ISU MBB. Good sign for Lipsey and Gilbert.

Have to be top 3 I would think
Lipsey
FG% .497 - 3% .429 - FT% .650 - R 5.9 - A 6.1 - TO 2.2 - S 3.6 - Pts 15.5
Gilbert
FG% .472 - 3% .281 - FT% .698 - R 4.7 - A 4.9 - TO 2.8 - S 2.1 - Pts 14.4

Seems pretty good. Likely the weak spots are KG's 3%, both of their FT% and their scoring if I had to nit-pick. Everybody overvalues scoring when looking at a player's body of work though.

If you would have told me last season we'd be nit-picking Lipsey shooting nearly 43% from 3...I'd have asked where you buy your gummies
